  1. It seemed ok once it had cooled down, and I tried to bring it home, but it started sticking again. Nursed it back to the house and it'll more than likely sit until after New Years. It's the last straw though. I can't remember a month where it hasn't broke as soon as something else got fixed. I'm gonna get the caliper sorted, put it through the soonest MOT after New Year, and sell it on
  2. Indeed. Only worth a packet of cigarettes and a hand shake So now the car has decided to break itself yet again. Front passenger caliper has started sticking. I'm sitting here waiting for it to cool down and try it again round the block. If it's still broke then it's time to call RAC for my first ever call out in 20yrs driving I'm too far from home to risk driving it back.
  3. I wonder if that'll be one more VTI-S showing on howmanyleft.co.uk lol Doing my bit to make them less rare than this time last week
  4. Thanks folks. I'm happy to get silly little things like those sorted, and fingers crossed that'll be the end of maintenance for a little while. It's due its MOT next month so I'm hoping for no surprises. One other little thing that has always bugged me was that the V5 designated the car as a VTI. I made some enquiries with Swansea and obtained a letter from Honda UK that stated that my car should be a VTI-S. The letter was accepted and I came home today to find my new V5 showing the car officially changed to a VTI-S Only took 15 years to correct lol
  5. As well as replacing my heater motor I replaced my power steering reservoir as well. I'd the car in for it's annual service at the start of November and the mechanic filled the power steering reservoir only for it to leak out over the workshop. Turns out the power steering belt had sliced a nice gouge out of the bottle lol. Replacement bottle arrived.....and......it's black lol It's def been painted at some point but I think it blends in to the bay quite well.
  6. Not much in the way of updates here. I got a four wheel alignment done on the car last week after getting the front shocks replaced a month or two ago. Still need to get some time to figure out the printout that I was given but first impressions are very good and make me wish Id done it sooner. I'd a spare hour today and took advantage of the daylight to replace my heater motor. The current one just didn't seem to be blowing hard enough and would screech the odd time. I pulled the old one out; so much easier than I thought it'd be. I found a stack of bits of trees and old leaves in there which must have been what was causing the issues. The new unit spun a lot easier in my hand than the current one, so I figured I'd still put the new one in
  7. Lovely car dude. It seems really hard to find a clean EP3 these days. This is my favourite colour in them too. I've always wanted a Premier edition in Cosmic Grey. I've Rainsport 3s on my MB6 and cannot lose grip in it. Love them, although I wish the sidewall was a bit stiffer.
  8. No you're right. It ends up leaving water spots on the car once the dryers motor heats up. Waste of money and pointless stuff like that is why I don't go near Detailingworld anymore lol.
  9. Yeah. It's a blower with a 4hp motor. Looks like an old school vacuum cleaner and blows air out supposedly at up to 300mph lol I bought it two years ago and used it twice!
  10. I wouldn't have thought it possible either. I can't believe a legitimate tyre fitter would even agree to try it.
  11. Ah no bother. I'd just spent a small fortune putting tyres on mine anyways so I'd have needed my head examined buying those as well lol I've not been on here too much recently so just catching up
  12. Def more of a gimmick, but I've always been a bit of a sucker for that sorta thing lol. I've a Black Baron dryer hanging on the wall in my garage that I've probably used twice. It's just handier to reach for my towel and bottle of Last Touch.
  13. Sad times Whatever happened to your 16" Accord wheels? Did you sell those as well?
  14. I'd be interested to see if there will be a proper definition of when a tyre is deemed stretched to the point where it contravenes Section 40 of the RTA. I believe a decent number of police forces in the UK have used this as a reference for determining extreme tyre stretch though. http://www.btmauk.com/data/files/Euro_look_tyres_31_May_2011.pdf I don't mind a bit of stretch, but like so many areas of modifying there will always be folks that need to take it to a dangerous extreme. A local MOT tester on another forum that I'm on had to send an enquiry to their bosses a few months back after a MINI came in for a test with 15" tyre on a 16" wheel! lol
  15. Have you still got this? Are you still taking it out or is it retired?
  16. Snow foam isn't really meant to be for washing the car. It's more like a pre-wash. I personally don't see the point in just snow foaming the car over the winter. You'd need to have it well prepped and waxed beforehand to help the dirt run off and be snowfoaming it regularly. Even then you're only washing off surface dirt. You'd also need to keep topping up the wax on the car unless you use something pretty hard wearing. Even then it'd probably look horrible and uneven. By the time I get my power washer out, extension lead and hose, plug it in and fill the foam bottle I could have most of it handwashed anyway.
  17. Great work on the S2000 cluster. As someone else has already said, it's one of the best clusters out there
  18. Is this still not done yet? Finger. Out. This should be one of the nicest MB6s around once it's done. Looking at that rust doesn't inspire much confidence in what sort of rust might be lurking under mine, especially with it having lived its life in the wilds of Scotland lol
  19. Voted. One of the toughest months in a while imo. A few very nice cars this month.
  20. Mine has gone like this as well, but screetches at all speeds. I'd changed the pollen filter a few months ago and also bough a new resistor. I just need to find some time over the next few weeks to take a closer look. I take it the heater blower is just behind the glove box below the resistor?
  21. I've had an Autobrite lance for the past 5 years and used it alot. I've friends with ebay ones. Some leak or spray water out the edges, some don't leak at all. If I bought one I'd probably wrap some PTFE tape around it to keep it watertight. Autobrite just put up a sale on their site and their lances are down to £30 + p&p or free collection in store. Edit to add the direct link http://www.autobritedirect.co.uk/index.php/sale-items/autobrite-heavy-duty-foam-lance-various-connectors.html
