I also spent a couple of nights last month stuck in the garage buffin the S3 before taking it to the Belfast Audi tour as part of Audi-Sport members club. Its has one of the highest sales figures for Audi in the UK and was the first of a new style of design for Audi dealerships. We had a pretty decent nosy around, out the back, in the stores and through the workshops. I found it pretty interesting for a dealship, even if I couldn't afford a single thing in the place. I had to get the parts guy to jump start the car in the car park though, which I found out later was due to the battery terminal being a bit loose

Figured I'd pollute the thread with some more VAG scrap with an update on the mighty S3 I've driven the car maybe 6 or 7 times since the rolling road last December and about 7,000 total since I bought the car in December 2011 I bought new standard font plates off as I've heard more people getting pulled for 'Metro' style plates I'm a bit gutted as I've had this style of plate on my car since I first passed my test 20 years ago. The car had a bit of a small hesitation at idle when the engine was cold. I know the 1.8T coil packs have a design flaw in them which make them pretty unreliable so I bought some 2.0T TFSI coil packs and adapters from more modern VAg cars which cured the problem. Feels much nicer now Up until August I'd been running a full 2.5" decat but the MOT was due so I fitted a Magnaflow 200 Cell sports cat. I can't believe how its affected the fuel economy Stupid MOT!!

I haven't been near it yet I've just been flat out with other things. Hopefully get round to it towards the end of this week lol

Autosmart Tardis is the best thing I've ever used for removing sticky residue. I use it for removing tar spots on the paintwork but it'll work on any stubborn or sticky marks.

Good idea. I'll check that later too. I've always had my interior light switched to never come on when the door opens. It's one of the first things I do when I buy a car. Hate lighting myself up in the dark. Don't want to scare people......

I keep seeing the word Catastrophe in the thread title instead of Apostrophie

They are a lovely wheel. I used to love mine. I think they are a 14" diameter wheel. Would it get in the way of the dials on the Civic? Maybe that doesn't matter

Lately I've realised that the buzzer has stopped working when opening my door if I've left my lights on. The cars definately have that feature don't they?? Or have I dreamt it? lol I've also just noticed last night that the dash light for open doors doesn't work either. Other dash lights do work such as ABS/SRS and full beam. Any thoughts? My initial thought is to check the fuses, and I'll do that when I get home later, but whilst it's in my head I figured I'd post this up incase anyone else has any experience with the same? Would the fuses be seperate for different dash lights? Anyone have a diagram of the fuse box as well? I don't think mine has a lid on it

I totally understand why you want as far away from your Civic as possible. There's def a good argument to buy something newer and hopefully more reliable when you keep having bother with your current car. I take it there's still a decent warranty left on that? 3 more years or something? On the plus side, I like those alloys

Thanks for the offer @UnicyclingTom I got home tonight though and discovered a rubber seal, some nuts and bolts and a metal cage thing hiding under a bit of cardboard at the bottom of the box. Thank frig for Dave, as I'd have went to Honda and paid for a new one.

I didn't notice a bag with the tank I'll have to check the new tank later when I get home from work, but I figure I'd have seen it if it had been there. Fingers crossed this used sender turns up with a decent rubber on it. It'd be nice if these things were nice and simple. God only knows why they'd use two different tanks lol

@DAVEMB2, did you get the rubber seal for your fuel sender from Honda? I rang my local dealership to try and order a seal, but they won't search for parts without the chassis number. As the new tank I've bought is different to the one on my MB6 my chassis number would be pretty useless anyways. I offered to give them the reg of an Aerodeck, but they wouldn't use it to search Would any nice MC2 owner like to PM their MC2 chassis number? lol I also can't figure out if it's item 23 or 24 on the diagram (they suggested 25, but I didn't think that was it). They won't give me a refund if I order something and its not right as they say Honda won't take it back. Thanks again Dave. I'm offloading the manual labour on to my mechanic though so he can worry about fitting it lol I've ordered that replacement sender. Fuel tank from Germany. Fuel sender from Lithuania. This is becoming very European! Did you have to replace the rubber seal on your fuel sender, or had the original just hardened with age?

New tank arrived. It's a twist lock as you expected @DAVEMB2 so I'll have to order a different sender. I'm pretty pleased with delivery though. Ordered on Tuesday from the company in Germany, shipped on Wednesday and arrived this morning. Can't wait to get it fitted now.
