  1. Congrats on getting it sold. Don't be deleting the thread though. Sure there's a higher ratio of car chat : spam than most other threads on here
  2. Yeah it's screeching on 3 and 4. If it does it again I'll get a video. Hopefully its not something more serious with the heater ffs
  3. lol as long as they don't start messing with peoples automobiles!! My new resistor arrived today. Easily fitted in 10mins thanks to the 'How to' on here. When I first started the heater again it started screeching, but quickly disappeared. Hopefully that's it sorted
  4. I know how he feels lol I try to figure out what I want from a prospective new car, and what I plan to use it for, but then go out and buy the complete opposite in the spur of the moment. I just want too many cars.
  5. I was going to suggest a big Merc for proper V8 noise. Something like an old 90s AMG C43 Shame they are all autos ffs Do you want a big car to waft around in and munch miles, or something light for B-road blasts?
  6. I'd say a n/a S4 would bore you quickly and thats from someone who owns an Audi lol They aren't proper V8s anyway are they? Kinda slimmer configeration and I'd imagine they'd need an exhaust to waken them up a bit. What about a B5 S4? 2.7 V6 twin turbo, especially with K04 turbos fitted. Horrible to work on though but fookin quick. Even then, they can be very quiet and boring, unless looking at the speedo.
  7. Strangely 3 and 4 now work, but 1 and 2 don't so I'm guessing it is the notorious resistor. I ordered that part of eBay and will get it fitted once its arrived. Strange the car knew to wait until one thing was fixed before it broke something else. It must be infested with annoying little Jap Gremlins
  8. It was the switch. I couldn't get the screw turned on the door switch to check so I covered it in WD40 and gave it a couple of taps with a hammer to help loosen it. Well bashing it fixed it lol
  9. Can anyone confirm that this is the correct heater resistor to order? The thread that seems to get linked to most often is archived, so I can't ask on it, and I don't want to start another new thread on it http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ROVER-200-400-25-45-MG-ZR-ZS-HONDA-CIVIC-VI-HEATER-BLOWER-RESISTOR-JGH10002-/181398253401?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Car+Make%3AHonda%7CModel%3ACivic&hash=item2a3c2daf59 eBay confuses me when I try and find parts for the VTI-S. So many listings don't seem to include the MB6 even though the parts fit. Thanks
  10. New fuel tank and sender finally fitted. No more petrol fume smells. Yay! On the way home I turned the fans up on the heater and I'm getting a ridiculous screech from 3 and 4. Heater resistor?
  11. I'm not on either of those. irdriver maybe? Or there was a big one a few years ago that suddenly died. Cant remember the name of it though.....
  12. Talking s**te maybe :p :p You guys are putting me in the mood for an ice-cream though lol
  13. I removed mine and the wife's tax discs this morning. On the way in to work this morning I only spotted two other cars that had theirs removed.
  14. Hey hey hey!! What do yous all want?!?! I've given you a thread filled with tasty random cars, and an Audi! Yous all obviously want the moon on a stick ffs
  15. I'll admit it did look confusing. I fixed it there to make it a bit clearer
  16. Did someone change my title from 8L to 1.8L? lolol 8L is the chassis designation, like MB6, EP3 etc
  17. More smoke, more poke is right haha That mk2 Golf runs clean most of the time but he built a 'smoke' button in to the dash. He basically built some simple electronic doo-daa-whatchamacallit that dumps more fuel in. When he comes across another car and needs to up the power a bit he just flicks the button, like a dirty diesel afterburner lol. I'm no fan of diesels, but this drives like a revvy petrol, although it vibrates like mad on solid mounts. 500bhp is mental for a little 1.8T. I'm guessing it was alot of work to get it there lol I've always wanted to have a go in a mk2 or mk3 Golf with a 1.8T in it. Decent suspension and a diff would make them a very capable little car.
  18. Don't think I'd have the balls either, but I suppose its just a case of getting an old bonnet from a scrappy and trying it. Maybe I'll get round to it next summer. It'd be great to get the Civic looking perfect.
  19. Its a shame the new car is already on the way out. Sitting on the fence here, and I know we've all slagged you about it, but are you sure you've given it enough time? Even with the wee bit of bother you're having with it, at least its getting sorted for free. Hopefully then you'd not have to go anywhere near the Kia dealer again? If you are looking something else, what characteristics should it have? Use? Budget? Don't be impulse buying any more cars without running them past us first
  20. Thanks dude. I've actually a turbo intake pipe from Badger 5 on the car. He really does know how to get the best out of them as it's the best TIP around. He's a bit far for me to go though for mapping and spannering
  21. Last week I swapped the S3 for a friends mk2 Golf. He wanted it cleaned for a local car show down at the Titanic dry dock. Its a 1990 Golf GTI but there's a 1.9tdi engine underneath. This doesn't go down well with the purists, but it has been heavily modified and when it was last dyno'd it was putting out 230bhp, 350lb ft torque and still does 40-50mpg. He's now put in bigger injectors and a more efficient turbo and we left it down to a local tuners last night to get it mapped again. There's a Peloquin LSD underneath to try to keep it under control but it'll still spin the wheels in the dry in 1st and 2nd lol It's alot of fun surprising folks in bigger and more expensive machinery who don't expect to be overtaken by an old Golf. Fast as F*** Developments The S3 is back at the house but I've diagnosed a dodgy actuator New one ordered. Hope it's an easy fit ffs. After that I really don't know what to do with it. I'd love something different, but if I sell this there's not really much else out there that interests me around the same price.
