  1. So I've been thinking about buying the gearbox from the d14 or d16 due to the shorter gears? Would it make much of a difference? I'll do a new clutch and flywheel at the same time and would a lightweight flywheel be worth the money on a d15z8? Thanks
  2. Yeah that's the thing, I've heard a lot of mixed reviews about them. after spending so much money on parts, brakes are something I don't want to buy just because they may be slightly cheaper than others although I had pagids on my old mb and they worked well.
  3. Yeah I'm extremely excited, with any luck it will all be fitted in over a week, so can't wait to see the difference it'll make. no I didn't get them through the forum, a guy on Facebook (Paul King) breaking a turbo'd mc2, had only over 1500 miles or so. Paid £500 so didn't think it was too bad. Have you got any opinions on discs and pad? Thanks
  4. Hi guys. you may remember about 7weeks ago I posted pictures of my Orleans blue mb3 project, the cars now just gone over 28k now. so after speaking to many insurance companies and finding the policy I'm going with, I've started buying parts to start the build early May time. so this week I bought, where to start. Meister r zeta s coilovers mb6 hub swap with calipers cyberspeed LCA's Mb6 Arb 1 inch MC hel braided brake lines mg zs spoiler (needs painting) honda mist spray windscreen washers vti front lip (needs painting) handbrake cables due to only having drums on the rear. i've also got a backbox being made as my old one snapped, will be paired with my 2.25 inch stainless system with decat. i've also fitted my Jordan wheels just for the mean time. things needed still, a set of black 16 inch alloys with good tyres ideally the accord sport. new discs and pads extended top mounts. what would people recommend for discs and pads?? Thanks for your time.
  5. Just starting working on my mb3, on 28k miles. Reading through this whole thread. i'm having a backbox made, may I ask what size the muffler is, looks perfect in my opinion.
  6. Definitely pal, I'm not sure what to do with the interior yet, as it's all grey it Even has the factory cassette/tape player haha. I think outside I'll just do a blue and black colour scheme with yellow brake callipers.
  7. Thank you very much guys. All the hoses have been checked, however it will be having a Timing belt shortly. Plans include a mb6 hub swap so I can run the 16" accord sport wheels, coilovers and the vti lip kit for start. I know people will say why not just buy a mb6, well due to Me being a new driver the insurance just isn't justifiable, so I will be keeping the 1.5 for a long time coming. I've already had someone wanting to buy it, however I'm going to keep it, even as a daily when I'm able to Have two cars.
  8. Hi everyone, I'm a owner of a nighthawk black mb3, Tonight I bought a stunning blue civic LE, I'm in love with it so to speak. It's had one owner since new, and in that time it's covered just over 26,000 miles. it's faultless as you'd expect from a car that's been serviced by Honda every 1-3 thousand miles or every year, it's covered Less than a thousand miles in the last 3years. I've got alot planned that hopefully goes to plan. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.
  9. Just got a new engine for my xreg mb3, with 63343 miles on it. Waiting to start it up!!
  10. Ok then great, I will then, thanks guys
  11. So I can buy that then? Sorry I've I keep asking and boring people, I'm just trying to get my head round it, before I pay out. Thanks
  12. Now after talking to man selling the d16, it leaves me even more confused as he says, he thinks it's OBD1 :-/
  13. Brilliant, not saying you don't know your stuff, but are you 100% sure mate, If so I'll start talking about buying the engine. Thanks again
  14. Oh great, didn't know that I can just buy mb6 system and have it shortened. I'll look at a d16 mani, I've got my mb3 cat for my MOT. Where can I buy a reducer pipe?
  15. My friend i bought it from said it was 2B,So I'm wrong it's not OBD2B it's just OBD2, so if all M's are OBD2, and the d16y2 comes the 1.6 mb shape SR, then shouldn't it work?
  16. Well I roughly know what i want for my car, but saying that I'm new to this, so all advice is more than welcome and appreciated thanks. Is the ej9 cat in the exhaust system though, I would need a new exhaust first if so.
  17. Ohh my car is obd2b, can I convert to obd0 and how would I go about that?
  18. Sorry, I believe it's from a mb4.
  19. Wow, I'd love to run something like that in my mb, I wish my girl friend had an interest in cars Does anyone know what obd the d16y2 would be?
  20. Brilliant, how did you get 250bhp, with a turbo? I believe I'll be getting the loom, ecu, the full swap. Is would the catafold be the same length as a 4-2-1? The breaking car actually have a pipercross induction kit on it, maybe I could get that too
  21. Oh right, so the the non cat manifold is the same length as the mani with the cat? Do you have any idea what sort of price that would be and what size back box would be best? Thanks
  22. So I'm thinking/ looking at getting a d16y2 to drop in my mb3 rather than buying a new d15 as it's only about £170 pounds. Has anyone done that, or know of it would be straight forward, and what can be done with the engine, in way of mods ect.
  23. As most of you may know, the cat on the mb3 is in the manifold, I'm just wondering what people are doing exhaust system wise, de cats ect and what the best route would be. Does the full exhaust system from a mb6 go straight on, or with a little playing around? Thanks
  24. Yeah I'm sure it will look great. Just in need of a new D15z8 for the car, then it will all be finished. OH and I want to respray the boot and rear bumper at some point, this will be my first car. I like your silver mb3, really nice with the red H's on the wheels
