I have just finished reading this entire thread and hats off to you sir. What an epic build. I can't wait to see it finished.
-
Cheers guys I've been trying to read through some of the other build theads on the site to see what you guys have been up to but they're so long. It's a full time job trying to get through them.
-
Haven't got any pics of the deck stuffed but a couple of years ago I borrowed my dad's accord tourer to go to v festival. Couldn't resist taking a photo.
-
I bought one set of each of the team heko's and I'm just gonna sell the rover fronts on. It still works out cheaper than the climair's even if you get nothing for them.
-
I took some pics of the interior too as I totally forgot about that when I took the last ones. These are the full leather seats that I retro-fitted last month from a 1997 1.6 deck. It was a fairly easy job really as I removed them myself so was able to salvage all of the seat belts, brackets etc from the other car. This is the knob and gaitor that I mentioned in the spec list earlier in this thread And this is how my boot usually looks Not really how I would like it to look but these two find it quite comfortable
-
Right, I was inspired by @3gdean project thread earlier so have been out and washed the deck. And the results And as promised here are some pictures of the rear of the car
-
This looks like a quality build, can't decide if I like the grill or not but it looks like you've done a good job. Also you've just given me the motivation to go out and wash mine, thanks.
-
Yeah the hps are the street pad, work fine at any temp and low dust to keep your rims looking sweet.
-
Yeah I got hawk hps on my lude and I would defo recommend those, expensive though and I had to import them from the states.
-
Yeah I've heard the same but I've had first hand experience with the ultimax discs and they're pretty good. I wouldn't use their pads though. I had red stuff on my prelude and they were awful.
-
Well with that many votes of confidence I'm gonna find it hard to go with anything else now. Thanks guys, I'll probably look into getting a set come payday.
-
Cheers mate, those discs look similar to the black diamond ones I had on my prelude. I'll have a proper read up on them when I'm not at work. My dad's just put some ebc ultimax on his ep3 and they look sweet but they don't do any for our civics.

Right guys, this is what I've done to the car so far. Sorry for lack of pictures but it's tanking down with rain and I'm still in bed after nightshift. Hopefully will take another load of pics in the next few weeks including some of the interior. Exterior Rear mid spoiler colour matched to car Repainted front and rear bumpers Repainted complete splitter kit Colour matched all bump strips Replaced headlights Smoothed headlight washer jets Smoked side repeaters Team Heko front and rear wind deflectors (rears not fitted yet) Interior Replaced most of the interior with much cleaner parts from my old car Complete full leather interior swap including door cards Genuine Honda oem dog guard Complete rear window tints Sony head unit Skunk2 gear knob Password JDM gear gator from a DC2 Integra Engine K&N panel filter in standard airbox eBay special 4-1 manifold Custom stainless exhaust with decat Magnecor KV-85 HT leads NGK iridium plugs Hamp oil filter Cusco battery tie (fake) Rocker cover painted wrinkle red (not a type r wannabe just borrowed from my B16b) Chassis Ultralite g-spec wheels 16 x 7 et 40 Nankang NSII Ultra sport tyres D1 Spec internal drive lightweight lug nuts (genuine) MG ZS 180 shocks MG ZS 180 rear ARB Eibach pro kit 30mm lowering springs I think that's pretty much it for now and overall I'm very happy with the car. I was actually quite shocked at how clean it looked when I shined it up for mimms. As for future plans, it needs a full new set of discs and pads at some point this year (any recommendations welcomed), maybe an ITR airbox and filter, respray a dodgy repair on the tailgate and I might drop in a GSR ECU someday. Other than that I'm gonna enjoy it as it is as my daily driver.

Happens to often with these cars, I still have decided what to do with the rest of the VTI, I keep slowly using parts of it for other builds. It's come in very handy to be honest.
-
It's just a shame I had to scrap the vti to do it.
-
I didn't see the work done to be honest as my partner just took it to work with her and it came back dent free. It was however absolutely covered in suction cup marks so I'm guessing it was the latter.
-
That's about the same as the extent I had to go to with the interior. Even the headlining had to be swapped.
-
To be honest I don't think the guy had meant to rip me off, I think he thought that's genuinely what a car of that age should look like. He was selling it for an elderly relative and he looked as though he'd never owned a car more than a year old. As for the dings, my partner works in the motor trade so we just used the guy that does all of the cars at the dealership where she works. I don't know his company name although I could find out for you, I'm pretty sure he only covers the north east of England though. He has done an excellent job to be fair as the car was riddled with them but due to that you can see some very slight creases in some of the more badly damaged panels. I've had my prelude done by the same guy and there is no trace of any of the dents whatsoever.

I almost forgot about the headlights, fortunately my first aerodeck had a brand new headlight fitted not long before I bought it. Unfortunately the other one was as badly faded as the ones on the new one. That meant I had very odd looking headlights so I treated it to a brand new oem honda item so that they now look as they did when it left the showroom.
-
Wow, thanks for all the comments guys. It's good to know that some my my hard work is appreciated. Anyway here's a bit about the car. I bought it last year to replace my aerodeck VTI that was fairly tired and needed to much work a little too much money spending on it. My thoughts were that the VTI-S is much more rare and has the body kit already fitted so I would be much more inclined to spend a little cash on it. Also the guy that was selling it told me it was in mint condition. I traveled from the north east all the way to Southampton only to find it was far from mint. It had car park dings all over the bodywork and scuffs on every single piece of the splitter kit. The rear bumper was damaged beyond repair and the front one had a few scuffs and scrapes. The headlights were badly faded and the interior was filthy. It was however in good mechanical order and I got it for just over £1000 with the intention of making a good one out of two bad ones. I swapped every piece of interior and trim from my old car and fully cleaned everything else. I swapped all the mods including the wheels over also but the car still looked a bit rough. Anyway I decided that I was going to go the the mimms honda day in it so I thought it best that I tidied it up a bit. I had all of the dings removed and the entire splitter kit, front and rear bumpers, all of the door trims and a mid spoiler that I bought off eBay resprayed. I also had the rear windows tinted and detailed the entire car from top to bottom. As for mods, that will have to wait till next time as I've got loads to do and I'm back to work on night shift again tonight.
-
Thanks, yeah I kinda missed the back end when taking those pics. I'll have to sort some out next time i wash it. I'm also gonna scribble down a few details about the history and spec when I get chance.
-
Yeah you too mate, I eventually made it round to your cars but they were deserted. Must have been out eyeing up all the other nice motors.
-
As the title suggests, here's some pictures of my deck. Please feel free to let me know what you think.
-
This project is flying along, we joined the site at roughly the same time and I haven't even started a build thread yet. Loving the work you've done so far but I think you should slow down a little, you're making me look bad.
-
I've been through their parts system loads of times for other parts, it's virtually the same as what you see on the lings website. I guess I'll just keep looking and hope to spot one somewhere. I'm not a fan of buying something I've not seen beforehand.
