OMG could ruby be the first car you do oh I also wanted to ask you about the headlight bulbs in ruby,the n\s one blew the other day and I had a spare one in the house that I put in but it wasn't till later on that evening that I looked at the blown bulb and found it wasn't standard,any idea where I could get one ?

Hi krzys,as long as its under three grand then I think I could probably get away with spending that without the wife going tonto and talking of old school ,I have started to look up classic car restorers and see if I can find an old boy

Dave , your right it's laziness and no pride,i was taught to do everyones car as if it were your own(father),bodyshops and garages are all about targets so quality goes right out the window,i have also done painting before and bodywork on my sons cars(because he thinks he is a rally driver)ie sils,wings,bonnets,skirts,front ends,chassis legs and everything in between lol,if my father was alive I would trust him too paint ruby,he was a old school master of spraying and bodywork and what I would call a real perfectionist,but I don't have the time or facility to do it myself and as I don't do it often enough I would probably not meet my standards lol

Oh the other thing with bodyshops is that they always are behind in time because of parts issues so cut corners on quality to make time up seen it so many times,so when they say Monday they actually mean two weeks on Monday ,that's why I am taking my time to find the right place to do ruby

I felt sick seeing roxy like that Dave ,the thing is with new style cars,they are designed to look worse in an accident than they acctually are,but as long as the engine is intact then it's usually ok,but as parts men go,in the last 28years I have been in the trade I have only met three that are what I would call good and I hate to say this but Ali is one of them

Instead of the skirts getting painted I am going to get a full respray, both rear wings getting replaced and all the black trim is getting sprayed the same colour all I need to do is find a great painter, as I am a bit of a perfectionist it's going to be hard , I do the quality control in my work so that tells you everything(chuckle chuckle) oh and to pick a colour any ideas are more than welcome
