mb6 idle bouncing or misifring

hi all im quite new here and recently bought mb6 and i suspect it is misfiring or not idling right. when i start the car up, the rpm needle goes to 2k and stays there for 5 seconds then slowly comes down to 1k but this where the problem starts, the needle goes up 1.5k then back down to 1k and then up 1.5k and back down to 1k and keeps doing this forever.

 

i am no mechanic but did bit of research on idle issues on honda and found that it is something to do with idle air control valve. i located it behind the inlet manifold and removed it and cleaned with brake cleaner then put back on but it hasnt helped anything so confused now what to do next help please

sounds like a problem with the iacv. Have you resetted the ecu, maybe this will help for the ecu to find the right idling point.

Sounds like a 'hunting' problem.

This can be due to the IACV and other causes are vacuum leaks etc.
