GreenVTi991
As I've not owned a Civic before I don't know whether the heating generally isn't very good or if there may be a problem with it. Can anyone tell me if their car gets very toasty inside after 20mins on full heat, or if, like me, your hands and feet are still freezing cold after 40mins? My old Peugeot 405's heater was so good you burned your hand if you covered a vent.
hickster
It's not that great, but after a 40 mins driving you should be pretty toasty even in this weather. Check the condition of your cabin/pollen filter- you are probably just heating up a pile of old leaves in there!
GreenVTi991
Ok I will check the pollen filter. Is it under the front scuttle under the supers? No I haven't replaced the anitfreeze yet as I've not had the car very long
hickster
Behind the glove box for the pollen filter, should be in the 'how to' section I think.

GreenVTi991
I changed the pollen filter and cleared out all the dead leaves etc and its made a slight difference. What's the odds of the heater matrix needing a flush? Or as Nav has suggested replace the thermostat?
simpo
Where does the temp needle sit ? Does it move at all when you driving?
GreenVTi991
It sits just under a quarter of the way when the car is left running stationary for a while. In this recent cold weather its sat barely above the bottom line when driving.
