james
More maintenance work todayFirst off was the throttle body/intake mainfold, my revs ware dipping every so often so it needed a good clean I used egr as i could'nt find throttle body cleaner only carb cleaner was available and that has a chemical called acetone which on the mx5's throttle body would strip the none stick coating off which would lead to poor idlingPritty dirtyMuch betterNext was the headlight earth points, so out they comeNot even metal to metal And the passingers sideTo help stop rust setting in again a good coat of satin black (where is edd china )And finaly, the mx5 has not cabin filter so all the dust and everything get blown through the fan and into the car and i thought i heard leaves swerling around inside the fan so i took it out to have a l@@kHow right i was (I broke a clip)Happy out now even gave her a good power hose after a blast on the b roads yesterday with the roof off To Do List:Fuel FilterGear Shift Upper & Lower BootsSort Out More Lumbar SupportGet Exhaust Leak FixedFront Brake PadsPolish & WaxValve cover gasketNext Is The Fix The Leaking Exhaust And Fit A New Fuel Filter

james
Yep it gets quite gunky in there all right, i had intermittent idle problems so taking off the throttle body and cleaning it was a must =]some time i am going to take off the intake manifold and get a brush in there and do a proper job (like cleaning a chimney) Thanks nick, she will be close but no cupa just yet =]
