Guest tornado06
Hi there,This is my first post, yes i know it would be better if i introduced myself at the "new members" section, but i got a big problem, so, excuse me.I have a Civic MB2 1.6 ies with manual transmission. (I'm not sure the engine, probably it is non vtec d16b2 engine, which has 116 hp) I'm using the car since 2001, i bought it with 50000 km on odometer. Before, my uncle was using the car. I'm extremely happy with my car, in my opinion, it is one of the most comfortable and safe cars produced in the 90s, in its class. I have used my car with gasoline till 2007. In 2007, when the car had 132000 km, i have installed a lpg kit (I don't know if i can tell its brand, maybe it is prohibited, if you are interested, pm me ) and the car became extremely economical. It is even economical with gasoline, but in my country (Turkey), i guess we use the most expensive gasoline in the entire world (almost 2,5$ / L) Now the car shows 218000 km on odometer. My problem is, engine is overheating when you push the throttle and drive the car at high rpms. For example, there is an uphill near my home, it lasts almost 1,5-2 kms, but it is not so sharp, probably it has an angle of about 20 degrees. When you enter the uphill with 70km/h and downshift from fifth gear to third gear, and try to accelerate until 7000 rpm- 150-160 km/h, car accelerates without problem but after 1 km, the temperature needle quickly rises above, especially if the air condition is open. When you left the throttle and close the ac, the temp. gauge drops down slowly to the correct temperature. I have checked almost all parts of engine (radiator, thermostat, coolant etc.), changed the coolant twice in 3 months, and even add a bottle of additive liquid, that repairs small cracks at the engine block, head gasket, etc. (I cannot tell its brand, again, pm me), and nothing changed. The problem goes on. Separately, if you drive the car at high speeds or high rpms with air condition on, and wait at idle position, the temp. gauge rises quickly.I tried to explain the problem at above, now my question is: What should i do? I checked almost all cooling parts at the engine as i stated above, now i am thinking of to disassembly the engine to check the internal, head gasket etc.P.S : I appriciate all of the help efforts, thank you so much guys. And sorry for grammar mistakes
simpo
You say checked but did you change the thermostat? If no then I would say you need to change it. If yes then I would say you may need to bleed the engine some more
NIKH25
Have you checked for an airlock or worst case any mayo on the oil cap.and

And yes, the engine is bleeded.Have you checked for an airlock or worst case any mayo on the oil cap.and What is mayo on the oil cap, can you describe it? And how can i check for an airlock? As i said above, the engine is bleeded after the coolant changes.
knight
mb6's are notoriously hard to bleed properly and mayo in oil cap is white stuff on the cap
Guest tornado06
mb6's are notoriously hard to bleed properly and mayo in oil cap is white stuff on the cap Sir, can you explain the proper bleeding procedure? The car was bleeded by a mechanic, but i'm not sure that overheating is caused from an airlock, improper bleeding. What are the other possibilites? I will check the oil cap tomorrow, but if i remember correct, there is no mayo in the oil cap, i checked before...Thank you so much...
