Surely then the stereo would come on with the lights which come on without ignition.

 

The illumination comes on with the stereo, however mine dims when you switch the lights on so not sure how that works.

Thats exactly what use to happen untill the other day (put main beam on with no ignition stereo would start)

 

Also turn lights on with no ignition and lighter used to power up but does not now either

Hmm, definitely something not right in there. Is it using an ISO connector?

im sure it has but i forget as it was nearly two years ago since i put my stereo in.

 

I will remove stereo to check and find out just wanted to throw some confusment out there for everybody. We love a puzzle, see who gets the correct diagnosis

Just been reading the diagram and the lighter has a wire no 19 with a 10amp fuse for the illumination (bulb blown anyway) and the stereo also has the no19 wire going to a 10amp fuse also i suspect my prediction is going to be correct and that 10amp fuse has popped..
