stoocake
awesome project, keep up the good work, how much weight you save you reckon over a standard one? those coilovers look good how much they set you back?Do you know, I have no idea I keep meaning to get it weighed, but everytime I think of doing it, I decide that it's not going to be light enough and start stripping more out of it. The coilovers are HSD's and I think they go for around £725 a set. I got mine as a review set and paid a little less than that for them, but if you're interested I can put you in touch with the man who supplies them, he may be able to get a good price. I really really really do rate them - they're just perfect for the mix of road and track that my car gets used for. Thanks for the comments as well everyone, it helps keep this project alive. I promise more updates this week - I've been working on my motorbike which is now working again, so progress continues on the car...if it doesn't rain. Which it will. It always will. stoocake
It's freezing outside, but I'm a real man and was out angle grinding things today. Finally got around to gutting the last of my (excessive amount of) doors. BeforeAfterIt's still chufting heavy though!! Haven't weighed it yet, but I reckon I can get away with getting more metal out someday. I had a quick go at the hinges, but after breaking a couple of drill bits and had enough of being outside, I only got this far. There's a bit of rust down here at the bottom of the wing, just above the sill. MOT is due in 2 weeks so not sure how well the car will fare. jalesi2001
Hi bud, long time no see!! As for the rust, when you put the wing back on it, the tester wont be able to see it, as we are not allowed to remove any trims etc. As long as you cant see it underneath you should be ok!!! The sideskirts extend underneath the car so you may be ok, depends on how keen your MOT tester is!!
stoocake
Thank you Put my mind at rest a bit. It's not much - 50p-piece sized maybe, but I'll definately get it fixed at some point. Sorry for the lack of updates too - been moving house various times and been on holiday so not had any time on the car. I'm back, with a driveway and fighting fit now Also rebuilding the engine in my Honda C90 scooter so I might put up a thread for that - it's novel how small it is

stoocake
Cheers Dave, still not weighed it yet. Can't bring myself to do it knowing there's still so much to remove. I'm getting there though, I promise. I don't mind the cold, once you're out in it it's not so bad, although I can't stick it out for too long. Just taken my dashboard out so I can re-route my battery cable, mount my new washer bottle, and remove some more redundant wiring Pics over the weekend. Here's the new location for my battery, although I'll be changing it for a lightweight gel one in the summer when I'm using the car less. Also bought an early Xmas present for myself, I'll get these fitted up asap. Lying on the ice doing it doesn't sound too fun, but it's not stopped me before. Merry Christmas all

stoocake
hi nice build thought they didnt do rear lower control arms for mb6The MB6 shares a lot of parts with the EG chassis, so these are just EG arms. If there are any problems with fitment I will say here, but visually they match up.
