I'm gonna be doing my cambelt this weekend, was just wondering if any1 has any tips?? I've read the guides I've ordered a special pulley tool and I think I'm all ready for it!! Have done 1 previous cambelt and that was on my mitsubishi legnum which was a mission! Quad cams on that! Had to remove turbo pipes and power steering and pretty much everything else, so the honda one does seem a little easier.

Pretty easy really. Little awkward to get tools down there. Timing marks are easily found. Tensioner more or less sorts itself, roll engine over by hand couple of times then tighten if your marks are still lined up.

  • take your time
  • follow the direction word by word letter by letter
  • read directions before hand and understand everything
  • make sure you have all the tools and if needed any special tools

Cheers for all the tips, and wish I did have a friend who was a mechanic.

I've been reading up and the only bit I don't really get is the last bit,

"Rotate the crankshaft counterclockwise 3 teeth then tighten the tensioner"

Help??

Ok, cheers James and kink, think il do your way kink. Align everything up, take off the belt, put new one on, turn a couple of times then tighten, make sure no slack.

Another thing, I've ordered a new tensioner, do I need to fit this?
