hesam1
Hi guys, after a bit of guidance here. I've had my mb6 over a month or so now and i just serviced it about 2 weeks ago. Put around 4litres of oil in when changed. Now i checked my oil level early today before starting the car and the dipstick was BONE DRY. I found this weird so i opened the oil cap which had a fair bit of oil on the cap tread and also put my torch and looked inside the head and it had enough oil and was clearly lubed up. No lights have come on the dash and it has been driving faultlessley. VTEC kicks in nice and strong and there is not a puff of smoke in or out of vtec. Any advice? Is it a dodgy dipstick? simpo
That's the weirdest thing ever! Wouldn't say it was dip stick unless it's been cut in some way! Take it u checked for leaks? Also was it dry to touch as new oil can look very clear and hard to see
KiNK43
There is only less than a litre of oil between min and max on the dipstick. If you changed the filter as well then you need 4.5l of oil in there. Not 4.4 would probably be fine if you didn't change the filter. So I'd say if you topped up a little it would soon show on the dipstick. NIKH25
That's too thin mate 10w40 is the best bet, for high milers x2, you can get away with 5w40 but 5w30 is way too thin.
