Krzys
put your breaker bar on and have it so the handle is touching the floor closest to the front bumper (not the rear bumper side)Then just flick the ignition on and the force of the engine will crack it off Would that work with the head off? MBK89
Yeah. its the force of the starter pushing the flywheel. which is bolted to the crank
Krzys
For some reason I was worried about valves without the cam belt.....which aren't there because the heads off, blonde moment!
MBK89
yeah its just a quick flick of the ignition. not quick enough for a power stroke to take place
3gdean
Personally bit weary of this method, screams broken starter motor.
marv
I did watch videos on youtube with people using the starter trick. Was going to attempt it with the fiesta but managed to get it off with the snap-on gun, beast of a thing!
MBK89
the starter solenoid is rated for alot more NM than your bolt should ever be done up too..... If it blows then your starter was probably on its way out anyway
Grant
Do remember mine being a pain on the EK and using a snap on impact gun borrowed off a mate. Great tools.
