10000rpm
Thanks! Appreciate any input I can get ATM.Basically burnt a valve, had 2 valves replaced, head skimmed, new stem seals fitted, refitted it and it's smoking worse than before!like all the time. Removed my new 80 mile old spark plugs and no 3 and 4 are covered in oil! Can see oil on top of the pistons. The valves went on no3 and the rest were all ok!Ok one thing you can check is remove your exhaust manifold look at your valves through the ports, if they are oily then the stem seals are not sealing im afraid.A cylinder leak down test will reveal more too

I'd expect to see some in no3 and 4 due to the state I the plugs and I can see oil through the spark plug hole!Cheers
10000rpm
I would check valves like I said before taking the head off. You can check them on the intake side too but obviously more work is involved stripping it down.

vtec2011
Nightmare mate... Did you replace the spark plug seals/gaskets on the rocker cover by any chance? Just thought if it's got oil in the spark plugs, it could be that too?

Just thought if it's got oil in the spark plugs, it could be that too?Yeah these were all changed. I'd have thought that when the plugs are tightened that no oil would get past. Had that problem with a zetec engine in a escort I had. Only puffed smoke if I removed the plugs and some oil went in the bores, this is smoking all the time ATM Been looking at replacement engines but people tend to sell the whole conversion for good money. Probably cheaper buying another car lol
