So my mb2 has been suffering from a horrendous exhaust rattle. I have been under the car to investigate the noise numerous times. I ended up gutting the Cat thinking that it was the internals that were fubar‘d.

It turned out the rattle was coming from lil heatshield that was spot welded on to the center section. Doh!

Morale of the story is always diagnose problems with the cheapest options first lol

Whoops, at least you won't do that again.

As above quite common heat shield rattle. But you learn from your mistakes, I wouldn't be able to change half the stuff on a civic if it wasn't from having a go and making mistakes and learning from them!
