feck_on_a_stick
I'd be interested to see if there will be a proper definition of when a tyre is deemed stretched to the point where it contravenes Section 40 of the RTA. I believe a decent number of police forces in the UK have used this as a reference for determining extreme tyre stretch though. http://www.btmauk.com/data/files/Euro_look_tyres_31_May_2011.pdf I don't mind a bit of stretch, but like so many areas of modifying there will always be folks that need to take it to a dangerous extreme. A local MOT tester on another forum that I'm on had to send an enquiry to their bosses a few months back after a MINI came in for a test with 15" tyre on a 16" wheel! lol
Krzys
15" tyres on a 16" wheel, I can't say I've ever come across that one! That's some feat though!
feck_on_a_stick
I wouldn't have thought it possible either. I can't believe a legitimate tyre fitter would even agree to try it.
