fyfie5 Posted February 4, 2015 Author Share Posted February 4, 2015 cleared all the snow off the car and cleaned up the contacts on the battery and the car started up fine! there me thinking I had solved the issue but no turned it off left it a bit to try again and yup the horrible grinding noise is back, I think its the starter teeth on the flywheel but not sure what's causing it Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

fyfie5 Posted February 4, 2015 Author Share Posted February 4, 2015 it could quite easily just be a dud starter/on its way out now since its 24 years old now, but they say to check that its not just one of the bolts just come loose! but I've got a replacement on hand anyway just in case.
