New clutch..High bite point

Question

Where is the OEM bite point on MB6 please? I've had new clutch fitted and the bite point is uncomfortably high. Should it be half way down pedal press?

I adjusted the pedal downwards as the clutch pedal was sitting higher than brake pedal. I adjusted it evenly but the clutch then slipped. I have adjusted pedal back to higher than brake pedal.

What is happening??????:( :(

I barely have to lift my foot and I've got bite in my MB6 (1 year old clutch).

Maybe your clutch is defective? Get it exchanged and see if the new one does the same thing.

Would try bleeding by cylinder removal to make sure all the air is out,

then think about your recent master install too to double check there.

also clutch fork could be an issue if not correctly fitted

release bearing also if not correct part

check part numbers of clutch kit

good luck sounds a frustrating issues :x

Bit expensive just to try parts mate. I paid for the work to get done. Will email clutch supplier and see about clutch model!

It was bled a few times mate. Release bearing looked the same but will try and email them to see if clutcheck was indeed the correct one.

Just my luck...I'm gutted.

Should be about halfway, did they replace the whole kit (release bearing etc) while it was being done or just the friction plate?

Yeah mate whole kit, Lock stock the lot.

The guy came into my work before I started my shift and checked the slave cylinder rod to make sure it wasn't bent or half in etc. Then he looked at the clutch master cylinder rod and found that it needed adjusted downwards. THIS solved the bite point!

The bite point cant really be changed but the pedal height/position can determine where the bit is on the actual pedal (not actual clutch as its hydraulic).

Simple adjustment cured it. :)
