  2. Haha like a baby bonnet bra.. Could give it a go, great thing about wrap, ya can take it off if you don't like it. I remember having similar frustrations many moons go with paint chipping. And found plastidip held up better than paint as it's rubberised.

  3. Hi all, I’m in the UK and really happy to find a community here for my UK 5 Door 1998 civic 1.4 LE with engine model D14A8. I’m trying to recommission it as it’s been in the family for over 20 years and had a load of work done jut now. My mechanic has said there is a coolant leak from the plastic intake manifold though. He said the metal coolant pipe connector had corroded and the plastic surround was crumbling. His advise was the only thing we can do is get a another intake manifold to fit or it’s game over. I can’t find one anywhere online for this engine (is it an MB2?), any ideas? Honda main dealer wants £876 for a new plastic one from Belgium but that’s too dear for me. I asked for the part number and he said it’s not company policy to share that. Are there any aftermarket ones that I can buy that would fit this engine? Or can I fit one from a different Honda engine that’s compatible? I looked on eBay without luck and tried to look at the salvage people but nothing is there and all want to sell the whole engine at £300. any ideas as I’m stuck right now. Cheers

  7. Durring the evenings ive been working on this , going to be a custom sub and amp enclosure (picked up an all in one fly combo that i stripped down for the internals weirdly enough was also only £30) The black fabric tape is just there to hold it all together whilst the titebond wood glue sets (its made from mdf) the origional cover still fits over) there will be a hole in the origional cover so the sub will stick out but not further than say the wheel arch at most so i dont loose usable load space. Still got loads to do on it but its a as and when i get a free night to do some work on it

  8. The slow boat from china arrived and the £30 airfilter arrived, had to do a small bit of fettling by making a 90° joint for coolant as had to replace the rocker cover breather and the origional hard lines are bonded together. Also the vtec has 3 ports in the origional hose and this had 2 so a wee drill hole and a grommet and all was good. It has a simota ? Air filter same as eurocarparts sell but i will be getting a better reputable brand at somepoint. Part load/throttle and its no louder than a standard setup , put the foot down and its propper loud lol and you i can now here vtec kick in quite clearly. Its certainly the most fun £30 ive spent so far, now i need to remove the strut brace and paint it blue. Manged to pick up an alloy rad at the weekend for £30 (preowned with aftermarket hoses and fan) also got a vti coupe magnaflow rear can so working on that to change the flange and add a hanger that was also £30 so got over the drama and moving on. On one of the many trips to halfords for body work supplies i also picked up a tin of vht satin black to paint the rocker cover with aswell

  9. Still more than double the standard power chief I bet that it does improve drivability (or frisking as my predictive text tried to say ) - might be better on the track as well for lower speed corners? Sounds like there's some nice prezzies for the old engine on the way then?

  10. Yeah it's true mate. Happy, it feels good. And much easier to drive. As turbo more linear not just banging on hard with boost like the old one. Andbwill up the power next. Already on it. Building the original engine again.

  11. Nice number mate! Not all about the figures but driving experience, as you pointed out ;) mega power for such a light car, compared to the modern beasts that weight a house

  12. On th Dyno today and mapped on the s300. 11 psi 344bhp. This is possibly the most expensive detune of all time. However the point was to run a smaller turbo and have more response. Feels good. Still quick. And the turbos whistling away from 2k rpm. Sweet.
