  1. Yeah thanks guys, I'm happy I managed to stayed with these Civic's. just luck it come up, thats what tempted me. And it means I can still get great support from this club and its helpful members. It would be good to put the kit on the VTi but dont have the time and seen as its a proper installation with certificates etc... I best leave it alone! The tank is in the spare wheel well so no loss of load space, which is good. Also it has longer tax than mine and he's throwing in the set of original wheels (its on wolfrace 17's) with a great set of conti winter tyres, worth a few quid too! Double bonus all round! I'll get some pics up when I get it end of next week. It has tinted windows and wolfrace white wheels (and an interesting bonnet graphic) so looks a little different to the norm. Will be sad to see VTi go but I've got to be sensible now with baby and work and take the economy route. Unleaded at £1.33 against LPG at 66p!! Can still have fun with vtec though once I've sorted out rocker leak and done service. Would be honoured if I'm the only LPG Deck!
  2. Hi guys, I've come to the decision to sell my VTi Aerodeck. Shes a lovely motor and rare colour, but at the moment being in family mode I need a bit more economy for every day commuting and travelling around in work. Don't worry though I'll still be driving an Aerodeck but this ones a 1.6 Se Vtec so cheaper running costs on the fuel and also the added benefit of LPG! So should be mega cheap to run but just as practical and reliable. Anyone elso got an LPG Aerodeck?
  3. Hi guys, just a quick question instead of trawling all the topics. Just wondering if the oil filter for the 1.8 dohc vtec engine will fit the sohc vtec 1.6? I ask as I've got a spare hamp filter for my VTi, but will shortly be selling her for a 1.6 se vtec model and would be nice to know if it will fit, Thanks
  4. My clutch pedal is a little spongy and sometimes feels like a very slight delay in returning when changing gear. I just bought a new slave, not fitted yet but ready when the warmer weather comes to do with few other bits. Less than £20 through Jap parts guy on ebay, bought myself new dizzy cap & rotor arm too, excellent service.
  5. True, never said they didnt, just using the example in general. Theres a few round by me too, but a favourite in this area has to be little french hatchs, like poogeots and sh1treons, especially 1.1's with spoilers and bean can exhausts! but if thats what they're into then they're entitled too, each to their own as they say.

As long as they are same style drop link I dont see why not, The honda ones are different (not so good) design for the drop link, but not sure the difference in the actual bushes. I've got MG one too but havent fitted it yet. I would imagine if its same size bush, it will work fine. Or just replace with new ones to be on the safe side.
  7. Makes sense technically, but personally IMO, (no offense meant to anyone personally, just my generalisation) I wouldnt drive or own a BMW if you paid me. I dont like the stigma surrounding them, same with most German saloon drivers Audi, Mercs etc... pull out without indicating, stick up your arse & think they own the road!! No way! (not in my world anyway)
  8. Yeah new sensor and cat certainly did the trick. Just annoying that ive got a decat thats no good to me and wasted my money, shouldnt have happened but there you go. Hope i can pass it on through online auction site or similar to recoup my losses. I'll stick to my usual suppliers for parts in future then I'll know exactly what im getting then! ( with comeback if anythings wrong!)
  9. On a happier note, fitted a normal cat and just went back for my retest and she passed no probs, this time CO reading was 0.00!
  10. that is a shame... ive bought a few things from him with no trouble... i still couldnt find any info on what mongoose are calling this or if they even made a sports cat for the mb6/mc2 as far as i know the sports cats are custom made only Yes it is a shame, I would have thought being a respected member on here selling many parts he should have known, unless he doesnt realise whats inside a cat. Anyway after many texts back and forth he has offered a £10 refund which is better than nothing I suppose, obviously would be nice if he would take it back as it was obviously mis sold. I've even given him the link to Mongoose listing to confirm that I was correct. They only offer sports cats for Ford, Subaru & Mitsubishi. Its on the Mongoose exhausts website, under de-cats, honda civic mb6 listing. http://mongooseexhausts.com/store/shop/honda-civic-mb6-decat/.
  11. but yours is a cat isnt it tom...??? Yes, and so is his I doubt 10000 rpm would have sold him a decat, when he said it was a sports cat. Looks like he would actually! went back for the retest, new lambda was fine but still failed on CO2, in fact even higher than my old cat! Done plenty of research online about cats and from what I can see its a baffled decat. Doesnt have the internal metallic gauze to reduce the engine gasses! Works great as a decat, better response, revs quicker but not road legal for MOT purposes!! Got to re-fit another cat tomorrow now for retest deadline on friday. Im suprised though as he insists it is a high flow cat, might be high flow but isnt a cat as there is no internal gauze to act as the catalyst. Doesnt seen eager to take it back to sell on or help with refund, even partial. If he had described it accurately in the first place then I probably wouldnt have bought it as I would know it wasnt MOT legal. I have contacted him and tried to be amicable but will have to leave a negative feedback on his post if we cant make agreement!
  12. Same here I couldnt find one listed but I take his word for it as he said he had full mongoose system fitted but had sold that separately. Any way lets see what MOT man says tomorrow for retest! If emiissions pass should be fine. New lambda, dizzy cap and rotor so ignition updated too. Thought I'd post a pic of my lovely wifey to be helping to remove the old cat (taken on phone so bit grainey) smaller hands were easier to a few awkward bolts!!
  13. Its 2.25" although the original manifold is only 2", should helprelease the gases a bit quicker
  14. More Shineys! Trouble is though access is hard on axle stands to get old lambda sensor out, so had to remove the lower downpipe to do it off the car. Just means got to get new gaskets now they've been disturbed! Might as well do it properly though, dont want to put it all back with old gaskets to find it fails on blowing exhaust!
  15. Hopefully! the sports cat arrived today from 10000rpm, looks like a cat on outside but me thinks its a de-cat as you can see through it with just some small side baffles! Anyway once it's fitted with new ignition parts plus new lambda, got to improve things! Re-test next week so lets see the difference :-s
  16. Give me my old Cortina 1600E any day or my Triumph Stag which was running ex SD1 Rover V8 with twin SU's and 4 branch manifolds. Easy to tune, no restrictions or computers, Great!
  17. Definately, as a kid I used to know all the cars by shape and even sound, but now quite often I have to 2nd guess or see the badge to be certain what it is, too much badge engineering. My dad used to say he could tell the old BMC cars coming up the street Riley / Wolseley just by the engine note or gearbox whine! (so did I with my old Mini or Mk1 Fiesta) Gone are the good old days (and I'm only 30!!)
  18. Yes, probably had replacement bumper or grill section at some point in its life and who ever fitted it never realised. I would never had known what the writing had said unless they were taken out (as above) or had the whole bumper off and looked closely at it! Its true what they say you definately live and learn hey?! At least they're out now so it's as it should be
  19. Some nice new parts came yesterday, new dizzy cap and rotor and new clutch slave cyl
  20. Hi, just a quick quesiton. I intend to flush the rad and put in new coolant/antifreeze as god knows how old it is! Which stuff is recomended for these engines? In my world its usually just the original green or blue stuff but I know that more modern cars run red coolant but may not be suitable for these? I take it the old green / blue antifreeze is perfectly fine but just like to check? Thanks
  21. Finally took these out the other day, just cut the tabs off with my knife. Definately looks much better now. Funilly enough on the back of the tabs it states: "This part shall be CUT OUT on Airconditioner equipped vehicles" !! haha
  22. Got a s/s Mongoose high flow sports CAT coming from 10000rpm and just ordered a brand new NGK/NTK Lambda sensor, along with new dizzy cap & rotor arm! Hopefully that should do the trick as the current ones are all original, so now should be in much better health! Once fitted I'll get some pics up and hopefully man from DelMOnT says yes!
  23. Hi, just noticed you're a new member from South Wales with an Aerodeck VTI!! Not many of us round here, where abouts are you? Im in Barry, Vale of Glamorgan. If you're local would be good to meet up & help each other out maybe?
  24. Yes I read in the manual that you can bridge the pin connectors but havent tried it, might give it a go and see if i can figure it out! Thanks
