  1. Hi, recently been having a problem seems to be lazy clutch pedal, slight delay coming back up and spongy. I bled the clutch fluid last year but intend to do it again shortly, quite dirty so I suspect slave cylinder may be worn, damaged seals etc.. Is it a common problem with these cars, either master cylinder or slave cylinder? Dont know whether to just replace it or refurb it, but can you get repair kit with new seals etc... like you can for older cars? Dont seem to find any reference to a repair kit so replacement might be only option. Thanks for any advise.
  2. Never really made my mind up about Saab's but I do like the Swedes. Interior reminds me of my old Volvo C70 GT, that was 2.4 Turbo with heated cream leather. The Swedes definately know how to make nice motors. The best interior I've ever sat in, really comfortable. Enjoy it.
  3. If thats the case maybe I should take them out then? They look original unless its had a different bumper at some stage in life? Strange, as the two tabs are vented. Not really sure why they would be there. If you wanted air to go through the vents why not just leave out the blanking tabs??
  4. Excellent, thanks for that, I can start uploading photos now Yes I have A/C, seems to work (which is a bonus)! Any idea?
  5. look like the photo didnt upload! How do you do it on here?
  6. Hi, I was curious about the lower bumper grill. Its a bit difficult to describe but hopefully you know what I mean. The colour looks odd but I've altered the contrast so the grills show up in the photo. You can see on my photo the right hand side is blanked off with two slots having vents in them. Whereas the left hand side is fully open, the blanks have been removed to allow air flow to the rad. Is this how it should be as I've see other civics which have had all the blanking tabs removed so air flow is un restricted throughout. It is like this for a reason? Thanks
  7. Like the idea of heated mirrors, miss that from my old Volvo C70. Colour coding looks nice and clean but I do quite like the black & blue combo.
  8. Yea that thought is going through my mind as I've got the occasional crunch or graunch. Gearbox fluid change and clutch fluid renew in the summer will be my first try at smoothing things out, hope it will stop there although its still perfectly driveable at the moment with slower sensible gear changes.
  9. Havnt done it myself but its on the list of jobs to do. I would imagine that by removing the pipe at the lowest point it will drain out under gravity like engine oil. Then refill it and turn steering lock to lock a few times to bleed it. You wont get it all out in one go but the new fluid will do the world of good and you can always repeat it a few times so that the new fluid gets pushed around the system. after a few goes it should flush it through. Cant see why it would be any more complicated than that. Hope thats useful.
  10. Would of thought you could get these anywhere. However I would recommend Euro car parts from experience, they are very good service and keen pricing, always get discount codes online. Just looked it up now and I can get one delivered or collect locally for £32 (made by Pagid so also a decent make). Hope that helps
  11. When it comes I'll hold it in place just to see how it looks. Put on some before & after pics.
  12. It was advertised as MB6 so i know the rear will casue a problem, but the rest of the kit is the main bit I wanted for me anyway. Its going to be a while till I do anything with it (at least till summer) so it gives me time to have a look and may think of a way to adapt it, but as it will be stored in my shed or loft for a while Im not too worried at the moment. edit MOD
  13. p.s. got to be the Cascade Green Aerodeck for me as thats what I got!
  14. Can I ask how you go about being entered? Does it depend on what you've done to it or are you also interested in clean original cars? Not wanting to put myself forward, its just a daily driver at the moment for me but just interested in how it works. Thanks
  15. Thanks for the replys guys, I thought as much but wanted to make sure.
  16. Just won myself a VTI-s bodykit off ebay! Been looking for a while so good to get it. Just got to get it painted and fitted (along with my MG suspension bits) Who knows when this may be, but at least I've got the bits in stock ready! Sorry if its a bit of a pointless post but it adds one to my tally! (Obviously I'll take before and after pics when the day comes and start a project thread)
  17. I've got the MG ZS 180 struts to do the upgrade (when time allows sometime this century!) but just need to know one thing. The front struts are complete with the MG forks. Do I use those or remove them and install the struts onto my existing Honda forks? Or is there no difference? Thanks guys.
  18. Check to make sure the rubber grommits aren't missing on the floor under the spare wheel, otherwise water & spray will come in through there!
  19. Yeah lets hope so, been driving fine ever since. Any one had problems with steering rack coming loose before? I wouldnt have thought its one of those components that would loosen with age unless theres any known faults or its been off before in its history, but even then i've done 12k miles in it since buying it and nothing up till now.
  20. Hi, I had this problem on my in-laws aerodeck which I sold for him a while back, the rear spare wheel well was caused by dodgy gasket for rear light clusters and front footwell took ages to find but ended up being blocked drain holes in the bottom of the front door! Might be worth checking yours.
  21. Hi there, just thought I'd see if anyone has experienced any issues like this before? A few days back I had a wobble from the steering, thought it was ball joint or track rod but had to get under the car first to identify before ordering any parts. Drove it to my dads yesterday to use the ramps and steering was getting worse, vibration, juddering wheel and wandering all over the place. Obviously I was driving slow as I realised there was something wrong. If I was awawy from home I would have callled the Relay Service but since only few miles away thought I'd limp over to dads. Anyway I rocked the steering while dad inspected underneath, turned out the steering rack had come loose! The two bolts where the rack mounts to the bulkhead on drivers side had worked loose, one was only finger tight, the other was almost out!! Also noticed that the nearside front tyre had a nasty groove on the inside edgde which I would not had noticed if didnt look underneath, groove was deeper in some sections than others and almost through to canvas in one part, the outer part of the tyre still had 5mm tread left!! Dont know if this was caused by movement in the steering rack causing suspension geometry to move and catch the tyre? Anyway put some thread lock on the loose bolts and tighened back up, steering now feels fine again. Also changed spare alloys over so have tidy tyres again. Pure luck I got to dads when I did as much further could have totally lost my steering and could have had accident. Has anyone had problem like this before? Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated. p.s. Happy Christmas to everyone.
