Aaaaaah! This post is making sense to me. I started another post on here called MGZS suspension..Dakar Edition. I highlighted the problem with my set up being too high at the front etc. Looks like i've been done up like a kipper also! Will need to check springs and get numbers / colour codes off them now...more hassle for me!

Got this reply from ebay seller, CW Dismantlers; Dear burbleboy, HI, AT THE END OF THE DAY THESE ARE NOT MEANT FOR CIVICS THEY ARE MEANT FOR HEAVY ENGINED ZS'S WITH BIG HEAVY V6'S IN. WE HAVE ALREADY TOLD THAT QUERY FROM EARLY THAT WE DO NOT TOUCH ANY OTHER ZS THEN THE 2.5 V6 WE ARE DVLA CONNECTED AND ALL INFO IS LOGGED ON THERE STRAIGHT FROM THE VIN. THESE SPRINGS ARE USED TO A HEAVY V6 SAT THERE NOW REPLACE THAT WITH A LIGHTWEIGHT HONDA LUMP THEN YOU ARE BOUND TO SIT HIGHER. BEST REGARDS CW - cwvehicledismantlers Not very helpful. I have done my research before buying these and everyone that has fitted the V6 suspension says that its great and lowere approx 20mm. I hope that is correct info as my car sits terrible...ref the pics. Front is higher than rear which will no doubt ADD unsersteer.

No mate, only aftermarket mods were 17" wheels and rear parking sensors. Everything else was standard and springs that came off the car were black, a sign of standard springs in my opinion as lowered springs are usually coloured.

Finally, some pictures of what im taking about..Dakar Edition; O/S/F N/S/F O/S/R N/S/R This is only picture i have side on (ebay and before i bought it) Car as stands just before i fitted ZS180 kit

i think i bought from them too and i have just found out today they are not off a v6, mine also looks higher on the front. does the back bouncy wildly over bumps? How did you know they wernt from zs180? I have emailed ebay seller and now awaiting reply.... I will check part number and spring colour code the next time im at my mates garage..just hassle and just as well my mate fitted them as a garage would have re-charged me for fitting if they turn out to be non v6 shockers. p.s i know its a quote fail!!!!

I'm having a bad day....photobucket seems to be playing up or my ancient laptop. Cant upload pics as yet. Fed up with cars and want to torch it along with my laptop.

Wow! Cheers for that info! I will get pictures up soon to let you see what i mean...if you guys dont mind...opinions matter where the suspension has been fitted before! The dealer on ebay is recommended from this forum and they were defo described of zs 180! Cheers Ali

Cant really go wrong with fitting complete units tbh. Car was standard before and springs look standard. Cant put my finger on why its soo feckin high! Pictures later when i get home from work!

Hi troops, Just bought and fitted mg zs180 suspension after reading up about it. Well what can I say...it now sits even higher than before and on the drivers side front it is about an inch higher than passenger side. Yes handling improved but feel that, as the front is higher than rear, the handling has been compromised somehow. On the plus side is I can look down and peek at the HGV drivers as I drive past. I can do an oil filter change by simply just walking under my car....without ducking! Bugs me that the only way to sort is is spend more money on lowering springs.....which i wont do Suspension bought from ebay with cv vehicle dismantlers

Hi there, No passenger footwell is dry mate! I checked the thermo intake gasket yesterday and found that two bolts needed a half turn to tighten so i'm hoping it was that. Getting head gasket test and sniff test done at my mates garage this week to rule that out! Thanks for the replies, posted this up in case i missed something!

Hi, I topped up my expansion tank last week and re-checked yesterday, nearly empty! No leaks from hoses, no white smoke, no gunge on oil cap, no visible leak from tank. Radiator itself is in good condition and coolant present when take rad cap off! Also heaters are nice and hot. I searched the forums and only came up with thread regarding bottom hose as common fault but i checked mine! Replaced intake thermo gasket a few weeks ago but cant see any leaks when car is running. Any further suggestions peeps? Alastair

Creepin Jesus! All that to get 190bhp? Some cars on here apparently get 190bhp from just air filter, exhaust, de-cat! I spent thousands on my Honda Accord and dont want to go down that road again! I think i will just be happy at what i have. Just thought that £200 would get me a wee bit more oomph! Me and my mates go on roadtrips around scotland and wanted my car to be a 'B road killer' and the extra oomph was for that! As said previous....mgzs suspension....for roadtrips! Thanks very much for the info...appreciated.
-
What cheapish mods would improve my bhp then? I'm still annoyed at getting only 185bhp @ crank tbh! Having searched the 'search' facility on here i have read that people have changed air filter, manifold, stainless exhaust and got 190bhp! Less modifications than mine! I understand that every engine different but still want slightly more power for around £200 Any ideas, opinions? Saw this on ebay...worthwhile? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JDM-Honda-DC2 ... 19d1f9beb3

I suppose im happy at the gain of 17bhp for little modifications...and it does drive way better!
-
Hrm, imagine a tuner dishing out information to me when it is incorrect and then me posting on a forum!
-
When the guy phoned to tell me my car was ready, he said it's making 185bhp at the wheels, i can only take what he says as gospel! I'm no expert but i did pay for that information! Unless the guy has got mixed up and said its power at the wheels instead of flywheel? Printout is there for all to see....i dont know!! Im not being a bellend and claiming my car is mega bhp for show off status..i'm fed verbal information and have to go with that. I would be slightly annoyed if the professional tuner got his data mixed up!
-
One word...NO! Will spend my money on MGZS Suspension instead!
-
Hrm, good point, it's hard to get decent bhp gains on an n/a and getting 15 bhp from ONE bolt on mod did seem alot to me but then i took the guys word for it! So in other words, its not worth the extra £300, roughly, for inlet manifold and another dyno setup Alastair

Some Pictures; Dyno Sheets; BHP @ Wheels; Torque @ Wheels;
-
No probs, get it up soon (results that is )

Hi mate, thanks for that info! Unfortunately the tune up has rooked me for this month so have to save a little now! Damn this money carry on! Alastair

Got fuel pressure regulator sorted on saturday, in time for dyno tune on monday! Phew! Mods; 4-2-1 mani de-cat short ram filter (direct air feed) fuel regulator p28 ecu P28 ecu caused car to mis-fire coming off roundabouts / junctions etc. Not good, had to get sorted! Before; Power; 172bhp @ wheels Torque; 120 After; Power; 185bhp @ wheels Torque; 133 Tuning guy said that im gaining 30 bhp and 40 llb mid-range and gaining 20bhp and 30llb top end. He said that fitting inlet manifold would see 200bhp @ wheels. No bad results for the mods. I will keep an eye out for 2nd hand manifold on ebay etc and buy if i see one! Not spending big on this car like my others! Sensible head on for a change. Cheers Alastair
