I emailed pictures to ebay seller and they said that they all come like that and is designed that way to fit cat replacement pipe..... Cluck knows, i have emailed toyosport as well and awaiting their reply as the second, most important opinion. ANOTHER problem for me to worry about, if it's not flamming suspension it's this
-
Before i go to fit this later in week...the flange to cat section is welded at an angle! Will it still fit or is meant to be like that? Hope this aint another f**k up or im going to do myself in..... P.s its a toyosports 4-1 manifold

Only one wee problem with the post, no mgzs shocker part numbers or whar colour the springs were! If future members order from ebay then members can stipulate what they want. Just my thoughts!!
-
I can afford it but personally speaking i would never go down the coilover route again. I had one of the uk's lowest honda accord and getting setup right was a nightmare personally. I vowed never to get coilovers again as i cant be bothered with harsh ride etc again. And before you say "but you dont gave to have it mega low", if i fit coilovers..i would want it scrapping again!! Im staying away and rather let eibach and mg sort out my handling from now on! Also, because my accord had quite alot of modifications done to it, i also vowed never to spend crazy money on a car again...especially when it was written off and i had the headache of selling the mod parts from it, thats why im buying 2nd hand suspension etc as to buying buddyclub coilovers and adjustable arms etc

Thought i would ditch the plans to buy above exhaust as not guaranteed that it will suit my needs! Got a few emails back from ebayers with mixed results on fitment etc. Ordered a 4-1 manifold (sold my 4-2-1 manifold to apprentice in work )and getting custom silencer as guys in my work says that middle, aftermarket silencer, is knackered. That may cause the rasp...after all that eh? Saving myself around £80 this way!
-
Right, finally..... Took weetec's write up onboard and acted, bought eibach pro springs last night! £283 later but peice of mind that i'm fitting the better setup to coilovers. Happy as a result so no more headaches and my mate shaking his head as i ask him to chop and change things! lol Only solution but the only good thing to come out of this is...EXPERIENCE and passing it on to others! Thanks for all your advice and pictures, this forum sums up what it's all about...community and cyber friends! 1"£££$££"! Right, soppy stuff over, get back to work!

Got a link to the ones you have..... sadly i had the last of 4 sets. been a while now. doubt there is any more. i got them for the 1.8 MG 180. not the 2.5 V6. they dont advertise them anymore.

Me got a proper car...hatchback!! I know what your saying, im not thrilled about the ride height at the front, it defo needs to be lowered slightly at the front to be beneficial, other than standard looking rears, it handles better than standard suspension. I really dont know what to do, got a custom exhaust build coming up on monday, just got engaged two weeks ago, feckin wedding to save up for and general fedupness with car not being right! Group hug needed!
-
been there done that, drastically changes the handling, and i mean drastically! your choice Even with the fact that the springs and shockers are stiffer and made for 2.5 V6..allegidly!

Mine didnt sound raspy until i got complete de-cat...does yours have de-cat? I looked through the 'sold items' on this ebay listing below and emailed the people that bought this kit. Any opinions welcome; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/96-00-HONDA-C ... 483b8a29d3

Your car sound EXACTLY as i would like! Can you please give me exact setup you have? Example; de-cat, how many silencers and what backbox etc? My car booked in on monday to get rasp sorted but i may just start from scratch!

You paid how much? Must have been an auction that went your way then Is this the downpipe you have; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HONDA-CIVIC-C ... 48450e782d

Thanks for the info! Im really particular and like a car to sound nice..hence my previous posts regarting rasping etc. Do ALL 4-1 manifolds sound scooby or have they to be specifically designed unequal pipe lengths to gain the sound? The japspeed manifolds do not state if they are unequal lengh pipes, so im assuming that all 4-1 with 2.5 bore manifolds sound great?

This what i'm looking for; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Japspeed-Hond ... 3f1a8ccc3c

Can't view it on works computer.....booohooo Will watch on laptop when i get home! Cheers!

Aaaah! Good info! I bought one years ago on fleabay and won it in auction for around £110 at the time. But i didnt read up on manifolds or seek out what was best 4-1 or 4-2-1, just luck that it sounded awesome. Just later in life i make wrong decisions based on experience; I chose 4-2-1 manifold this time because i had to get 4 branches, near middle, welded to stop them vibrating against each other. This put me off buying 4-1 again so bought 4-2-1 manifold in February but unfortunately doesnt have the scooby noise! Typical!
-
Thats what i mean, it's either a hit or a miss it seems! I have blue springs on rear and it is exactly the same height as standard..and before you ask, my vti-s has a b18c4 engine etc, so its not my car! I still can't understand how you could have a large drop at the rear but what i will say is...it has transormed my car for the better. Tight into the corners at the rear..just wish fronts were as good!
-
Hi, I had an mb6 vti years ago and I remember that my 4-1 manifold sounded like a subaru and was quite a surprise! Do any of you know what make that would have been? I have looked on ebay but there are that many 4-1 manifolds to choose from!Just wanted to know the price as someone in my work may buy my 4-2-1 manifold off me!

Sorry for late reply, i work nightshift and use the works computer at will! Suspension was standard on my car however, the wheels are 17" team dynamic's and the offset is different and sticks out slightly, which means very slight scrubbing on arch on hard corners as wheels in line with arch. You wont have that problem as offset is proper. Dont get me wrong, even fiting the kit has made a difference as i want too bothered about having it lower, i just wanted better handling for A & B roads. It handles the bumps well but feel that it doesnt turn in as well due to being higher at the front. I am going to ..wait for it...cut the front springs! That would lower slightly and as the springs are stronger anyway so it will be fine. Done that a few times and mates do it also! Spring will still seat nicely on bottom mount. If that doesnt work then i will put MB springs onto the MG shocks. I am fed up asking my mate to swop over suspension and try this try that so taking the other route.
-
Right here we go; 2nd lot of front suspension arrived and had shocker part number rnb000160 / rnb000170 with blue and orange paint markings. Fitted them but EXACTLY like 1st set-up, high as dakar! Going to keep shockers on and maybe re-fit civic springs. Whoever said on this forum that mgzs suspension lowers car approx 20mm is talking s**te. Dont get me wrong, car goes over bumps better but sits too high to be beneficial in solving understeer. Should never had got involved in this mod as nothing but grief from the start. Rears sit a wee bit higher than standard but are great around the corners and tyres dont rub as before, apart from that...advise not to do mod unless people that are happy with theirs, can give accurate part numbers + spring colours to help others out......

Sunday there I had car on ramps and fitted rear silencer (£40 ebay jobby). Disaster! Rasps louder that anything, so lesson learned. Booked in on Monday to custom exhaust place to get work done..... .......Going to get small silencer put in place of de-cat, keep middle silencer and have straight pipe coming out back (doing away with rear silencer as was basically a straight through powerflow one anyway). In my experience that will not rasp as exhaust gases are free flowing out the car without any restriction to allow rasp at the back. Will keep you posted..if you want as this isnt exactly important to people!
-
^^^ Not putting cat back on as its crap with it on. I understand that taking a silencer away will change noise but ive had a vti before, with roughly the same mods...and it didnt rasp! Just one of these things i suppose. Hopefully cheapo silencer will be different enough to stop rasp before i go down custom silencer route.
