  1. It always surprises me that people expect to get most of their money back when selling a car with mods on it. It simply is not the case. The car is only worth around a grand and we, the buyers, do expect to pay slightly over that for the work done but not to the tune of four f**kin grand!
  2. In the chosen ebay ad, click the 'items sold' icon next to the quantity box. This will tell you the date when someone bought the exhaust system. Then go into the sellers feedback and find the date it was sold on and check accordingly, the feedback list. Try and find the item sold (you may have to check a few days after sold as people post feedback AFTER part fitted). Usually the buyer i.d is listed on feedback....email them and ask their thoughts on the exhaust they bought. I hope you understood this waffle! Cheers
  3. Mine pops, bangs and flames as well...my vtis is a tad too loud on normal driving but you only live once i say!
  4. Traced my oil leak to n/s driveshaft seal. Theres oil along driveshaft and on gear linkage boot. £10 from honda for the seal....just the MTF oil thats feckin expensive.....as i changed the gearbox oil not that long ago **sighs and head in hands** Thanks Simpo for pointing me in the right direction Also thanks to VTEye for the effort to help out. Appreciated guys
  5. Aaah! The sump gasket was leaking slightly so I will get it on the ramps and see...as its obviously got worse! I checked the round seal at camshaft (as one came in the kit) but it was dry. Thanks mate
  6. I have noticed recently that after a 'hard' run there is the distinctive burnt, dry oil smell. There appears to be no smoke from the exhaust (in mirrors when accelerating hard) and on further investigation i discovered the x4 rocker cover spark plug seals were letting some oil into the spark plug area. I changed them within days, the oil cleared up but smell still there. I noticed a small haze of smoke when i stop...as if coming from the engine. I have no visable leaks though...any ideas to point me in the right direction please? Alastair
  7. Damn, i spent ages looking through EVERY page on 'exterior' section..and it's in the 'how to' section! My mistake! Thanks for this...brilliant help!
  8. bejesus, that was a record fast reply! Ok, thanks for letting me know, i will delve into the project more carefully now!
  9. Hi there civic5ers, I'm going to be blacking out the rear chrome strip under the 'H' badge and was wondering how it came off. I have been prodding at it with a screwdriver but don't want to damage it! Is it a case of just clipped in or are there hidden screws that i can't see? If anyone has taken one off before then any info would be great. Alastair
  10. I did put paint on the disc edge also but not in drooves! Rust may show in grooves! (Just need to drive harder to get rid of rust)
  11. Sweet! You can now go and enjoy full vtec motoring
  12. I bought a tin of hammerite smooth satin black paint and painted the hubs to avoid unsightly rust later in life!
  13. I went for mtec dimpled and grooved discs all round. As said before DON'T get drilled as i went through 2 sets under warranty with mtec on my last civic. I also have green stuff front pads and mintex rear pads. I found the green stuff to be fine for my driving style but as i may track the car next year....i think red stuff may be an option at the time. But for non track driving, green stuff are good.
  14. My mate in the work was looking at this post and says the lca's i'm looking at will be craaap! He says that he has seen the cheaper ones snap and the bushes are made of chocolate. He suggested skunk 2 ones as they are stronger made. They have no direct benefit other that looking good and lighter! I may think about this before buying!!
  15. Look the mutts nuts and lighter! I'm not entirely sure if benefits other than that!
  16. Yeah i thought that cutting it was the answer but i wanted to make sure that everyone else does the same etc. I have MGZS shocks fitted to would not want to buy other suspension to avoid cutting! Thanks for the reply.
  17. Lol lol Im glad there are others who share my passion for all things vehicle related!
  18. These would really sum me up! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121066248344?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649
  19. I have been thinking about getting rear lower control arms and have been doing research on this forum and others. What i gather is mb6 rear shocker forks are 40mm wide. The dc2, eg,ek lca's fit but most lca's have a bush that's 50mm wide? Would i get this to fit as it says 'bushes are 50mm wide'..... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HONDA-CIVIC-CRX-88-95-LCA-EK-EJ-VTEC-UPRATED-REAR-LOWER-SUSPENSION-CONTROL-ARMS-/231055729750?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Car+Make%3AHonda%7CModel%3ACivic&hash=item35cbfea456 Any info on these would be great as in the 'showroom' section, peoples build thread are mostly with coilovers fitted and they have 50mm wide forks anyway! Cheers Alastair
  20. WOW! Just sat through a couple of hours reading EVERY detail in this thread! Love these build threads and the fact people like yourself spend time and effort on older cars to make them 'supercar beaters'. Top stuff and I love your engine bay detailing...inspirational! "now wheres my red spray paint..."
  21. Its great for the site and all thats entered the competition to have lots of comments/votes this month.! A good response and i hope it continues for years to come!
  22. I have the same mods EXCEPT the dc2 cams, skunk 2 throttle body and inlet manifold and I made 185bhp with live (not base) remap. I am interested to find out roughly the gains for adding cams, inlet manifold and throttle housing. I would just like to break the 200bhp mark and i would be hhhapppy!
