  1. When someone implies that you are "lazy", then that tends to be cheeky in my book. The thread was started because I've had problems with parts before, so this was not a hastily put together starting post. Dave kindly acknowledges the speaker problem and has amended. If no one spoke up and we let people trust information then we would all be buying incorrect parts. The point of this thread is to let others know that you should search more wisely rather that go with someones first piece of information. Simples
  2. I was on my laptop and decided to order speakers at 11.00 at night...bit of a hassle checking them physically at that time....forum been great but members should not take ALL as fact.. I was simply sharing my views, so less of the cheeky remarks please. In regards to mgzs suspension...look through my previous started thread and you will see that i had x2 suspension kits sent from cw dismantlers and car sat too high etc. Ended up buying eibach springs and mgzs shocks. The majority of forum info is spot on so my rant is over!
  3. Doing a search on the forum for rear speaker sizes threw up info that they are 4" rear speakers. Wrong. They are 5" rear speakers on mb6. Again, wasted cash as I can't see through packaging so had hacked it open and now I cant return them. Very frustrating but not nearly as much as the alleged perfect mgzs suspension setup....now that WAS a hassle. Moral of the story? Find out stuff yourself as forums can mislead. Rant over.
  4. I briefly looked on civiclife but decided to just stick to here.....10000rpm got a sensor and posting it out! Result! Thanks guys, appreciate the help!
  5. Sorry for not replying sooner to my own post! Work nightshift and use this in work..been too busy recently! I will go on civiclife and give them a shot as ebay is crap!
  6. Hi folks, I've been looking for an o/s/r abs sensor for 4 weeks now. There are a few cars on ebay that are breaking vti's but no one seems to be arsed to actually take parts off for selling! I've been emailing a guy now for 3 weeks and he keep saying "yeah, mate, get round to it at weekend etc" My patience is wearing thin with these ebay breakers. Anyone else struggle to get used parts from 'breakers'? Ali
  7. I checked sensor this morning to see if anything was loose or broken, all seemed fine. I will get a new sensor from ebay again. Thanks for working out the code, appreciate the help! Ali
  8. This sounds better! I will check sensor contact as light was intermmitant before it stayed on fully. Cheers
  9. It wont be the igniton as i have no abs...it locks up when tested. So its abs related! Thats what i mean about th code list..its confusing!
  10. Hi, I have the usual common ABS light on (again) and this time it is a different code to last time i had bother. There is one long blink followed by five other = 15. I have a p28 ecu fitted and not sure if this would affect any readings. Can someone with more brains than me tell me what the problem is from this list? viewtopic.php?f=90&t=4268&p=37703&hilit=list+of+fault+codes#p37703 Link not 'live' for some reason!! Any help appreciated Ali
  11. ...not really found a steady answer! What rough bhp gain are to be expected after their fitment? On the search facility there's talk about fitting cams WITH a different head etc. I just want to find out about changing the cams. Rich has mentioned that cams would not see much gains without a re-map....but didnt elaborate on expected gains with a re-map. I plan to get a re-map if the cams are a good option, as i have a chipped ecu fitted. Any feedback welcome, Alastair
  12. That did cross my mind but i thought 'E marked' was some mark that met minimal safety regulations! I may put a clear fiom over them or my spare flyeyes mesh to prevent them cracking so easily! For less then a tenner it may be ok...if i dont use fogs in winter! Lol
  13. I love your wheels! Well smart! I would probably stick to round ones. I bought these and going to try them. Can't complain as less than a tenner! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... ink:top:en They are the same diameter (6cm) as the factory ones and the brackets look as if they can be modded.... if need be. I will do a full picture report on them with fitting descriptions as it will help fellow civic5 members if...sorry...WHEN their foglamps smash!
  14. Won't be buying those then! I wish someone would post links to what foglamps fit and are tried and tested!
  15. Is this what your taking about? http://www.lkperformance.co.uk/fog-lamp ... 218780/921
  16. Excellent information there! Cheers
  17. As we all know the most common problem with these cars is foglamps breaking, water ingress etc. My foglamp was inop and as usual the x4 screws that hold it together were solid. After spraying loose all on them and left them, i decided to try an inpact screwdriver....and the glass broke and fell out smashing everywhere as it was already cracked! After i stopped laughing i decided that maybe aftermarket lamps were the way to go. There are a host of ebay sellers breaking cars and the chances of getting half decent ones are slim! Has anyone off here fitted aftermarket fogs / lights in the same area as the fogs? I would like to replace the OEM ones with ones that are easier to maintain! Regards Alastair
  18. I had 4-2-1 manifold but changed to 4-1 toyosports manifold. I had posted on here about what manifold gave a 'scooby noise', as i had owned one ages ago but couldnt remember what manifold gave off that sound. Since fitting the toyosports manifold...i have smiled ever since! Fantastic noise from the system, coupled with de-cat and powerflow back box!
  19. Hi fellow enthusiasts! After succesfully sorting my window problem (which was an emergency fix), i'm now turning my attention to the water leak at both a pillars on my mb6. I have blown an air line down both sunroof tubes (tube on both corners when open sunroof) that runs all the way down the a pillar and it was clear. I have also black siliconed the windscreen at the top corners incase water getting up and under that. Also siliconed the roof rail where it joined windscreen rubber on each corner, however; It does not drip inside or get wetter when driving, only when car parked somewhere. That would surely indicate to the sunroof itself? Other threads say to take interior trim apart and look there...why? The sunroof drains are visable when you open sunroof and clear them out from the top. Are they prone to split half way down? Are there other drain pipes? Also got slight boot leak as well! Water gathering in wheel well and appears to be coming in from the middle at side, water gathering on upper boot level at quarter panels. Not tail lamps leaking as no water mark. Do i need a new boot seal then as boot seal is holed slightly at bottom lock area? If any of you have had similar problems and sorted them then can you please share? Regards Alastair
  20. Turns out its the door control unit that had burn out! Electrician in my work tried to solder it but it was beyond repair. Got free control unit from guy in my work that scrapped a vti on a while ago...result!
  21. Hi there, Yes, mechanic put some weight on it and regulator moved ok, no noises or anything. I had a go at wire testing and fuse is ok. The regulator goes down when door switch and regulator re-connected, so that would make the regulator ok, if it was goosed then the regulator would not move at all. Must be a feed problem? cheers alastair
  22. Hi troops, My drivers front window stuck down, so i removed the regulator and jammed window up as a temporary repair. Guys in my work fed power to the regulator and it went up and down. I ordered a 2nd hand door switch off ebay and connected it up along with the regulator (didnt re-fit...just in case). The regulator goes down but won't go up. I can hear the door control box clicking away when switch activated up and down. Any ideas please? Regards Alastair
