  1. Thats what i mean, it's either a hit or a miss it seems! I have blue springs on rear and it is exactly the same height as standard..and before you ask, my vti-s has a b18c4 engine etc, so its not my car! I still can't understand how you could have a large drop at the rear but what i will say is...it has transormed my car for the better. Tight into the corners at the rear..just wish fronts were as good!
  2. Hi, I had an mb6 vti years ago and I remember that my 4-1 manifold sounded like a subaru and was quite a surprise! Do any of you know what make that would have been? I have looked on ebay but there are that many 4-1 manifolds to choose from!Just wanted to know the price as someone in my work may buy my 4-2-1 manifold off me!
  3. Sorry for late reply, i work nightshift and use the works computer at will! Suspension was standard on my car however, the wheels are 17" team dynamic's and the offset is different and sticks out slightly, which means very slight scrubbing on arch on hard corners as wheels in line with arch. You wont have that problem as offset is proper. Dont get me wrong, even fiting the kit has made a difference as i want too bothered about having it lower, i just wanted better handling for A & B roads. It handles the bumps well but feel that it doesnt turn in as well due to being higher at the front. I am going to ..wait for it...cut the front springs! That would lower slightly and as the springs are stronger anyway so it will be fine. Done that a few times and mates do it also! Spring will still seat nicely on bottom mount. If that doesnt work then i will put MB springs onto the MG shocks. I am fed up asking my mate to swop over suspension and try this try that so taking the other route.
  4. Right here we go; 2nd lot of front suspension arrived and had shocker part number rnb000160 / rnb000170 with blue and orange paint markings. Fitted them but EXACTLY like 1st set-up, high as dakar! Going to keep shockers on and maybe re-fit civic springs. Whoever said on this forum that mgzs suspension lowers car approx 20mm is talking s**te. Dont get me wrong, car goes over bumps better but sits too high to be beneficial in solving understeer. Should never had got involved in this mod as nothing but grief from the start. Rears sit a wee bit higher than standard but are great around the corners and tyres dont rub as before, apart from that...advise not to do mod unless people that are happy with theirs, can give accurate part numbers + spring colours to help others out......
  5. Sunday there I had car on ramps and fitted rear silencer (£40 ebay jobby). Disaster! Rasps louder that anything, so lesson learned. Booked in on Monday to custom exhaust place to get work done..... .......Going to get small silencer put in place of de-cat, keep middle silencer and have straight pipe coming out back (doing away with rear silencer as was basically a straight through powerflow one anyway). In my experience that will not rasp as exhaust gases are free flowing out the car without any restriction to allow rasp at the back. Will keep you posted..if you want as this isnt exactly important to people!
  6. ^^^ Not putting cat back on as its crap with it on. I understand that taking a silencer away will change noise but ive had a vti before, with roughly the same mods...and it didnt rasp! Just one of these things i suppose. Hopefully cheapo silencer will be different enough to stop rasp before i go down custom silencer route.
  7. Boot interior held on by clip / plastic rivets, take your time removing them and just peel back the boot interior trim to reveal the rear shocker nuts.
  8. Got a 4-2-1 manifold fitted....so not much difference there!
  9. Yeah i know, my last mb6 had custom exhaust but had a rear universal back box. Didnt rasp though! I bought a universal back box off fleabay for £44 posted so will try that. If that fails then i can stick the exhaust on my bmw track car!
  10. Hi, I had a sport silencer put in place of the cat when i changed the manifold...a few months back. Today i got the rid of silencer and went with full decat. I have a Powerflow rear silencer but it's very thin / small in proportion, unlike proper rear silencer. However, after decat the exhaust now rasps slightly up to 5000 rpm. Any one know of a straight fit rear silencer to replace this but without the rasp? I have had raspy exhausts before and to solve this, i had straight through rear pipe/silencer, as the gases seem to like an unrestricted exit. If there is silencer at the back, the gases are slowing down at the exit and that seems to give off rasping effect. Anyone had this problem and fixed this WITHOUT the straight through silencer option? Nearly 33 years old and dont want to go down the mega loud road but i'm embarrased at the corsa 1.2 rasp now!
  11. They have said every time that the only deal with zs stuff. I will keep the first shockers (better condition) they sent me and put either standard civic springs or the 2nd set of springs they sent me...whatever looks the lowest when layed out side by side! Keeping shockers as thats an upgrade in itselelf! Cheers
  12. Dear burbleboy, Hi, mate listen this is getting ridicules now, 1 - 1.4 zs only come from Ireland, 1.6 zs's only come from 2004 onwards, we only only break zs 180 orange and yellow till late 51 plate then whit and blue onwards. All these vehicles are noted on the DVLA system as zs180's seriously mate you have 180's. If they are not what you want follow the returns process as theres nothing more we can do then supply what you ordered. - cwvehicledismantlers Our info regarding spring colours must be wrong then? or not Im going to take the better of the shockers and swop to the blue / orange springs and hope that solves the problems...failing that i'm fitting standard vti-s onto mgzs shocks. Never again will i meddle with retro-fit suspension!
  13. Right, Replacement front shockers/sptings came today..... Same shocker part number RNB000160 + RNB000170 as supplied to me before. Springs have colour code BLUE / ORANGE AND YELLOW........ Front Springs 1.4 & 1.6 K series Non Aircon = ORANGE Aircon = BLUE NEVER AGAIN! Will email them again and tell them there fannies. I may swop the springs that came in today with the shockers that were supplied before as they are in better nick! Nightmare
  14. Fleabay wanted £30 all in posted from lithuania. I took your advice and emailed 4 breakers on ebay and got for £20 posted and chose the seller with best feedback! Result!
  15. Well you could have blown me over with a fart! zs120 suspension now?! Oh well, live and learn!
  16. Sorry, i never answered your original question ...... According to some members off here, yes. Contradicting stories from others though...... I just dont see how it can lower 20mm when the civic is lighter but thats why some members rate this mod as "a top 3 modification" and say it DOES lower 20mm. Confused? I am! It would be be great if it did lower 20mm as stance would be improved but really i'm after handling this time...been down the low scraping road and dont want to go back in a hurry.....yet!
  17. I understand why you are confused! Basically, what i understand, the mgzs 180 AFTER 2002 is what were after!
  18. Guys, thanks you very much! I did my best to try and do it myself but just couldnt understand how to work codes out!
  19. Thats not good news. I DID do research into this and all was positive. What has transpired is that cw dismantlers were sending out what they had and 'may' have known about it or may not have. People would have got the right kit and raved about it, but some, like us, got sh*te! There was nothing we could do but now we know, we can sort it...at great hassle though. Even with the wrong set up on the front, my civic went over the bumps and cambers great, but turning into sharp corner was hedge looming stuff!
  20. Hi! I just found brilliant thread and followed instruction; viewtopic.php?f=60&t=34 Fault code list; viewtopic.php?f=90&t=4268&p=37703&hilit=list+of+fault+codes#p37703 However, ive got one flash about a second long followed by 3 blinks. This is repeated constantly. Anyone got any ideas what fault code relates one pause and 3 blinks? I tried with the fault codes above but nothing is relative to 3 blinks! Cheers
  21. Hi folks! I recently changes front struts / springs to MGZS stuff but my mate must have damaged a abs sensor. Wires look great, no damage, fuse ok. I have used the search facility and need a wee bit of info and found this on another post; "If you haven't checked the ABS code yet, bridge the two-pin connector on pins 3 & 5 of the 5-pin connector in the passenger footwell, then turn the ignition key to ON (i.e. just before the 'start' position. The sensors are easy to replace; an hourish." Questions; How do i read fault code on ecu as the above description is a tad vague!? I have fitted a p28 ecu so would that be a different way of reading it? Thanks in advance! Alastair
  22. Cheers Knight, just want to help as i had problems before and people on here are VERY helpful! 1"£££$££"!!
  23. Then you're not a tiger. Then maybe we could find out via the part numbers on the shocker....if you bought complete units.
  24. They should be perfect as they are apparently from a mk2 v6..according to other happy purchasers of the same colour scheme off here!
  25. also.... It would be heplfull if the current HAPPY mgzs 180 suspension owners stepped forward and gave us info on what colour of springs they fitted to the front? May clear all this up and to have one of the "top 3 civic mods", we have to have white/blue spring set up to achieve this!
