Its hard to say ,i would fit a light to the solenoid feed and see it the solenoid is getting power when you are driving . Rich.

if there is a feed wen im driving wot could it be ?

at the min its like wen you turn a tap on slowly ? there doesnt seem to be a cross over like before

its more ov a fade into the vtec !!

Have a look in the how to section mate, there's one in there fro vtec indicator light.

What doing this will tell you is when the vtec is on and off, so if the electrical signal from solenoid is telling the ECU that VTEC should engage, the light will come on. Should take no time at all for the VTEC 'mechanical' stuff to operate after the ECU gives the signal!

So if you wire in indicator light, then there is a big delay in the VTEC light coming on and the feeling of vtec, then it's more likely to be mechanical! if the light flickers on off etc, then it's more likely electrical / sensor / actuator based.

Every other month on my car :D

If your engine sounds 'tappety' or ticky then you need to do them!

Only takes an hour and difference is cracking!

What you can do it yourself can you???
