johngreen537
Mines LOAD on hard acceleration, 'noisey' on normal driving, but OEM on motorway cruising, so best of all worlds really.Plus the lack of sound deadening in the EP3 sounds like driving my M with the mongoose but with the windows down
scottravenhill
mine is just always loud even on motorway haha, its actually quite deafening at times going up hills and stuff, your ears have to adjust to it everytime you get in the car. the only way i can describe the sound is like a p**sed off rattlesnake with a rocket up its arse. johngreen537
So, was looking earlier in the month at Gruppe-M induction kits, as the sounds and perform like no mans business! Then, the price, £450 for a USED one! £650 for new! Not that I'm tight, but damn that's a lot of money! So my brain was ticking. Bought JonnyRicer's BMC CDA, as its carbon, sitting the engine bay was sheilded from the heat etc. But, didn't quite have the performance I was expecting, and the air being drawn in was still far too hot.Brain was still ticking. I wonder. No, can't be. Maybe it is. My god, it really could be that simple. So the Gruppe-M has a carbon air box, which rises to a cut out in the scuttle panel, drawing in air from outside the engine bay, and the scoop creates a ram air effect! That and the inuction noise is broadcast from outside the engine bay, rather than inside, giving it a much snarlier noise effect! Then my little old brain is working overtime, could I.....Then, you guessed it...... I did!Scuttle Cut outCloser Excuse the bad wrapping, still Work In Progress, an no quite finished....The BMC.....The home made internal scoop collectorAnd again, forgive the bad wrapping / finish, still work in progress. The the air feed from the scuttle cut out, to the box, to the cold air feed to he BMCAnd cost me a grand total of £55!Oh yeah, and you can see the new earth circle in the pics too

johngreen537
Because there is a filter in the BMC which sorts all that out noodels!Same as any car mate, that's why we have them!

johngreen537
Well, minor update. Didnt work! Why?? I have no frigging Idea! With the air feed from the scuttle to the intake, no VTEC! No warning lights, nothing, just REALLY struggles for any power.Take it out again, all is fine! So, CBA to look at it, it's ripped off and back to little old CDA with cold feed! Shame really, guess I'll have to fork out for a Gruppe-M when i've got a spare £500! :S
WilkesyMB6
Thats rubbish, was a good idea as well! Are you going to get a new scuttle panel or leave a hole there lol
