its one of those jobs that I will probably end up f**king up and not have a working car (especially since its would be my first attempt) so going to get it priced to see how much it will cost.

Well where do I start, this is what happened. Went to pick up my car from the garage just as normal paid and took it away everything felt fine and as soon as I got out of the village I was stuck behind a slow moving Volvo at about 40mph (which Im glad I was now) and just as that Volvo turned off I started speeding up got to about 50mph and then BANG! bonnet flew up and battered the windscreen so hard I nearly jumped out of my skin, had to absolutely slam the brakes on as I couldn't see s**t! and there was glass everywhere it was brutal! managed to stop just before a corner I was coming to. So windscreen smashed, bonnet crumpled, bent roof also dented and my wipers got crushed. luckily a police car was passing and stopped traffic so I could drive to a layby. Turns out the bonnet wasn't shut correctly by a silly mechanic, don't even think it was on the safety catch! and it had just finished a mot!

I was pretty shook up and phoned the garage and told them what happened, they came and picked the car up straight away and took it back to the garage. They phoned in the morning saying if they put it through their insurance it would be written off :o so they are taking full responsibility and fixing everything for me for free and the owner of the garage was very apologetic and was glad no one was hurt. So yeah such bad luck on top of my oil leak and failing mot but they said it will be fixed by Monday or Tuesday. she looks in such a sorry state :(
