Nairnster Posted March 14, 2012 Share Posted March 14, 2012 Couldnt decide which section this would be best in tbh.The ignition keys for the MB6, si there anything in them? i.e. immobiliser chip etc?, or is it literally just a blade with a rubber handle?Was looking at getting some new keys cut, with a more modern key.Anyone know this?Typically, I think I just found the answer to this. On topic: Yes there is a transponder in the key, not sure how much to get a new one programmed, worth asking a locksmiths! Before you go buying any new blank keys! weetec Posted March 15, 2012 Share Posted March 15, 2012 heres what i did..... i had a set of keys including the red key from another MB including the receiver under the driver kick panel...so i took all the chips from the spare set and and installed them in to my existing car keys including swopping the receiver under the dash driver side.... simples....
