Small update but great news for my wallet 8-)8-)8-)

Went to see my mechanic today to arrange him to replace my broken quarter window (He is a rover breakers yard and top mechanic)

getting done wednesday. While i was there i spotted a rover 45 and climbed up to have a nose saw a few bits im getting so this is the deal

Supply and fit replacement quarter window

one rover rear center column with arm rest

4 rover very good condition door cards (they have the longbridge wood trim on them but i wanted that as im going to vinyl all wood soon)

£70.00 the lot, £40.00 to do window and £30.00 for the interior pieces

Think i have had a pretty good deal from him again (as usual) Good mechanics are worth holding on to :D:D:D:D:D:D

Very true that, sounds like a fair bargain. :D

Nice one and unlike Knight you didn't have to PM me to get me to look

I looked at the Rover door cards before as they would continue the trim from the dash through the doors. I don't know why they didn't do the same on the Honda's really.

Are you looking to wrap the lot once they are fitted?

Yes mate that was my plan going to see if i can get the heater control trim off him as well then rap the lot

Thinking something like graphite for the colour nothing brash

Graphite sounds ideal. 8-)

Nice!

really looking forward to having her back she handles like a go-kart and thats on standard suspention and the standard recaro style seats are sooooooooo comfortable and hold you nicely (even the larger frame like me but prob not Krzys :lol::lol: )

She got a recon engine about six months before i took her off the road mot was due and the tin worm had attacked so a little welding was needed but other than that a few bushes and a cv and she would have past.

Will start a build thread on her in the summer when work starts as going to nede to do brakes and other bits now as she has sat around for quite a while BUT and its a big but i took her off the road august 2011 and she has sat idle since except one drive i left her at a family members house for six months had to get her went there put a jump pack on and she fired first click, drove home put her in my garden since then (that was feb 2012) and in october 2012 some eight months later put the jump on turned key and she fired first click, took about five seconds for revs to settle and just ticked over smooth as hell got up to temperature fan came on no probs or leaks or smells [smitten.gif][smitten.gif][smitten.gif][smitten.gif]

Got the window done today as planned (at last its been carboard since november :lol: )

Did not get the iterior bits as i i took one door card off to offer it up and it looked more grey (mine is black) so i left it as i would not be happy unless it matched so no new door cards or armrest yet :cry:

But i did pop to halfords to get some interior shampoo and bought a new ripspeed ariel which looks much better

Also got a price for spraying my replacement bumper (at last) so that will be done in next couple of weeks so the front lip can finally go on [smitten.gif][smitten.gif][smitten.gif]

Good job mate! these little things make all the difference! its all in the detail! 8-)

Cheers. Too true mate im glad im at the stage where i can start doing the little bits as that means all the big stuff is either done or arranged to be done

Whilst at my mechanics i asked about the weather strips if he had any tips on removing them

As he said rover ones are rubber and available new still so order some and just rip the old ones off and who cares about breaking the clips just glue the new ones on and they wont move
