james
yes im regularly looking at how to's and manuals etc. slowly, now as i look at the box sitting there i think ahh only a few nuts n bolts to do up. so i think im ready! haha.can see it now first drive, torque steer into a bush. keep being told im stupid for ditching the lsd.but im not convinced. think it should benefit nicely from the shorter ratios.i get the feeling it wont be as tight on the front with out an lsd
KiNK43
Tight? U ever drove an m? Haha.I never feel in control as it is. Well skitchey since I changed the wheels. Well however it feels its going on for a while. Then I can think about reconditioning the s9b. Or even pinching the lsd out of it. We'll see. scottravenhill
It would be intresting to see what its like without the LSD from a launch. Also to see what its like to go around a corner quite fast. You will have to report back once its in!I have a S80 sat around that will be fitted shortly so will have the same ratios, i cant wait to see if the difference is as big as everyone says it is. I will update my thread once its done.when i first got my car the diff was noisy so sent the box off to a repairer and got box put back in. now at the time i thought to myself this isnt as fast as it was before the repair. is it possible they just removed the lsd?if they have then the torque steer aint that bad, plus my steering wheel is off centre so would imagine its fine if the wheel is straight, thats IF they did remove lsd
johngreen537
No mate, unless they replaced it with a normal differential.Otherwise you'd just have a broken car
KiNK43
Imagine noisy diff, they just replace the bearings. What was the cost of repair out of interest. Wouldnt mind getting the s9b repaired, noisy input bearing.

johngreen537
lol, I wish Been quoted the best part of £2k to replace the whole diff, they don't want to get into replacing the internals!
