NIKH25
This is turning out to be a right nightmare for you, I hope you can find the problem without having to buy another car.
10000rpm
Yeah these were all changed. I'd have thought that when the plugs are tightened that no oil would get past. Had that problem with a zetec engine in a escort I had. Only puffed smoke if I removed the plugs and some oil went in the bores, this is smoking all the time ATM Been looking at replacement engines but people tend to sell the whole conversion for good money. Probably cheaper buying another car lolIf your spark plug ceramics(white bit) are dry then the spark plug gaskets on the rocker are not the problem. Krzys
Looks predominately bad on one cylinder and not as bad on the other. Have you had a chance to get the exhaust mani off to check that side as suggested further up?

marv
Ok had a quick 5 mins when I got home so whipped the exhaust manifold off. Couldn't see any oil residue like before.Il remove inlet next so see if there's any signs of oil there. If there's not then is it the rings?Cheers
NIKH25
Definitely looks a lot worse on no.4. like you say and looks good on the exhaust side, hopefully you'll know more when you get the inlet off. It does look like the heads got to come off again though what ever. I guess you'll know for sure then if it's rings, I do hope not but wouldn't the signs have been there before? Peculiar though why there's nothing showing visibly with the exhaust mani off though.
