Its not going to hurt the engine nor is it going to do the engine any favours as the ignition curve cannot be adjusted to utilise the extra protection and as such no advance is added,  (Knock sensor readings are used to protect the engine from damage and actively adjust ignition curve on the fly, if the engine does not have a knock sensor or you have not manually advanced your ignition and used det cans to listen for knock with the extra advance then you are throwing the money down the drain as it is doing absolutely sod all)

Already have m8 n ur sort of right but no one is talking about engine knock as none of us are running that high of octane level to cause such an issue n as said these engines were originally designed to work with japanese 100 so using 98 in the uk or even 100 is not going to hurt the engine

And higher octane protects against knock it doesn't cause it

It is best not to confuse the B18c4 with a  B18cR as they are very different animals and are mapped for totally different fuels and massively different compression ratios. A B18cr has a huge compression ratio and as such was mapped to run higher octane fuel as it can utilise its added protection and as such run alot of advance through ignition curve, The B18c4 in comparison has a lower compression ratio by a large margin and was designed solely for the european market and our climate and our fuels of the time. They were mapped to run 95 ron and as such run far less igniton advance.

If you have your car mapped to utilise higher octane fuel then you will definitely reap the benefits but if you are using it on a stock ecu with stock map and no knock sensor it will do nothing other then cost you extra money that you could be spending on fun bits for your car ;)
