Cheers mate .. Not too keen on the colour personally, they'll be getting refurbed before going on ! Needless to say though, i didnt pay what he wanted, they were a steal of a price and i couldn't resist! With the width and the offset, they should sit just how i want them too .. I'll stop talking now before i give too much away !1 point

As I had that problem sorted I started smelling petrol through the air vent for last couple of days. Pointed it out to the mechanic. Cleaned the fuel filter that I had bought from euro car parts recently and turned ignition on and we could see the petrol dripping from top of the fuel filter. He tried a few times to fit that filter but all in vain.. It just won't stop leaking. Luckily he still had the old one from my car in his recycling bin so he put that one back on just to check and not a single drop of petrol leaking.. So we have left that on for now and I have ordered an oem one from japserviceparts.com which should be here by Monday. I shared the civic5 saying with my mechanic 'buy cheap buy twice' and he was laughing lol1 point

That's why I bought cheap tyres! I can't be trusted with £65 tyres on a BMW yet.1 point

I would generally the important parts that keep the engine going and the car driving safely (suspension, brakes etc) I would say are parts you shouldn't cheap out on else you will indeed revisit that job sooner than you'd expect. I mean if an OEM CV joint has lasted ten years plus, why not spend the extra money for an OEM part again instead of saving £10 to find it needs doing again in 12-18 months time.1 point

Got genuine one from Honda and the fitting was completely different.. The one from euro car parts kept falling out and the seal was slightly bigger than the space whereas Honda thermostat fitted perfectly as it was supposed to and didn't even wanna come out so no more leak1 point

I'm willing to bet the seal fitted is either wrong or damaged, hopefully the new stuff from Honda will cure it1 point

So steadily chewing through the list. Today had a good mate deal with the following: CambeltWater pumpCoolant changeCenter console installed (I couldn't get those rusty bolts out!) Yum! New parts! Old one didn't look too bad! Well that looks like crap! Glad it's changed now. I should be getting it back tomorrow as he's going to take a look underneath and hopefully get it tracked. He commented that he the found drive a little skittish! Dom (Torque1320) advised to get a some extra bits: Water hoses - The ones in the car were not as firm as the original ones so were replaced at some point.Fuel filter changeSpark plug change - Have new plugs, need to changeGearbox oil change - Have oil need to change Here's a more stripped down priority list and progress report: ABS - Picking up a second hand ABS pump and ABS ECU this weekendDrivers side mirror - Fitting when weather is goodPassenger wing mirror glassAirCon - Pump, bracket, tensioner and torque mount purchased but need bolts and fittingNew tyres x 4 - See how tracking goesNew spare wheel tyreNew car key - Might be getting 3 keys and whole lock set including all barrels, transponder thingy and ECU for the price of one new key! We'll see how this pans out this weekend.Sun-roof rubber seal - Should be picking up this weekend = £10 for the seal... and sunroof!Front passenger lower fog light - awaiting stock from breakersExhaust - It was blowing but I hate the boy racer tip at the end - so found a decent second hand one.Good thing is that the engine seems to be in good condition and has seen regular oil changes. I'm getting happier as things are starting to get fixed and can't wait until its more about the drive and going fast safely... but fast again.1 point
