  1. Tbf them lot are nutters. Absolutely fly. Biggest problem for me I think is the leather seats. Sliding out my seat upto the window constantly. Great fun tho really enjoyed it. Got me thinking I might make the car a bit more track focused and stop being so OCD. Can't imagine there ever going to be worth mega money. May aswell just enjoy it.

  2. Wow, that really is mint under there eh!! What a superb shell mate, Tubs is gonna be around for a very long time! Got DD booked into the wee village garage next week to see what the hell the clunking/rattling noise is coming from (we think) the rear

  3. Sorry to hear about your Mrs losing her job mate, never a good time for that to happen but even more so under the current covid circumstances. Something will turn up though, it always does . Glad you're enjoying the deck, really are amazing cars ain't they! I need to get the trailing bushes done on DD as they're well past their best. Good to see you taking care of her mate as these cars are getting rarer and hard to find good ones now. They're already getting into modern classic car territory so great to see yours being well looked after. Obviously won't be this year but would be great to get a massive civic5 meet organized for next year once things return to some kind of normality. Would love to see this and a .ot of the other members civics in the metal!

  4. As for the Rimmerbros parts at different prices, I've noticed before that they list genuine rover parts, and pattern parts - could be the reason for the difference in price? As Jake says, the electrical connector will probably be different. I had to swap the connector when I use a rover windscreen wiper motor. Some tasty numbers in the background of that pic but the way

  5. Need to get some velcro pants! Just make sure you don't wear them inside out. Can't imagine that bud To be honest though, you have built a weapon - might as well have some fun with it where it's safe(er) to. Need to find some of those rubber door panels that the Renault cactus has.

  6. Depends if you want standard or poly bushes. I've not long fitted some. Search on eBay for "PSB bush honda" we easy to fit and. Quality is good. Or there are the standard style which I would either buy genuine Honda or hardrace as the knock off parts fail between MOTs. Window regs. I have a spare but I want hang onto it for obvious reasons. They always break. But I expect the rover one will fit. Probably have to re plug it to fit honda wiring thou. Otherwise buy from a breaker? Nice to know your enjoying the car and looking after it.

  7. Haven't had chance to update this as much as I would have liked of late - largely as the missus lost her job the week after I was wanging on about cleaning this thing... Still, managed to get some bits sorted - chief of which was new discs and pads all round, as the rears were past the wear bars after a weekend's heavy driving with my mate in his FK8...The thing actually stops now, and doesn't wail like two foxes going at it when in reverse - which is always a bonus. I say I sorted it, the chaps in the workshop sorted it and I stood there taking photos... Also had to get the rear box repaired as I reversed in to a kerb that was way higher than first anticipated and I ended up ripping it clean off the mounts... replacing/ repairing it was way more effort than a new back box ever has the right to be. Several phone calls to 'custom' places to be repeatedly told that unless I was after a full system they weren't interested, to other suppliers that had nothing in stock with a week the shortest wait... ended up finding a small engineering firm a stone's throw from our place that plated the holes, welded new hangers on and rehung it so it is now flush with the bumper for less than £80. Two last niggles that need sorting - Window regulator disintegrated the other evening so the window's now wedged on top of three offcuts of wood... So is there anyone local to Surrey that has a drivers side front window regulator kicking around? Or know where to buy one from? Have looked at multiple sites now and have been left none the wiser as they all claim to be correct for the model year, but are wildly different in shape?! Have found one for a Rover 400 from Rimmer Bros, but they have two in stock that look identical, but are around £300 different in price?! Last niggle is the rear trailing arm bushes are knackered...again, anyone recommend a good online shop for bits? Struggling to find anything that remotely lines up...

  8. Looks like that was great fun Bet you were relieved that the bail didn't do any harm! Looks like there was some good three wheel action in that corner before the straight.

  10. Blyton park done with no problems thankfully. Car behaved great. Ran low boost. Seemed a good power for my skill level. Never pushed the car so hard before tho. And room to go much faster with practice and also some better tyres. Spun out once which was fun, hit a bail sideways on luckily no damage at all. Would like to change a few things for next time. Could do with sorting shifter out as a bit sloppy. Would like a faster steering rack as quite an ordeal changing direction fast on the stock one. And definately some better tyres.

  11. Some pics from today's visit. All cleaned up and primed. A few spots of welding to do, but nothing serious. Going to go for a more original style underseal, instead of the raptor seal as that seems to be quite a rough bumpy finish. Been sorting out which bits need powder coating, and what needs swapping off the old shell. Also took some tegiwa rigid subframe collars down, and found out that I need Couple of engine mounts as the ones on tubs were shot.
