Next up I decided to make a mesh grill myself. Got help from a couple of guys on Facebook who guided me and also followed the guide on the forum and in the end I was so pleased I tried it. I will do a little write up here that should fill some areas not covered in the guide. Here is the grill. I had a spare one to work on which is always a good idea. I opened all the screws at the back and took the surround off Started cutting the slats with a dremmel leaving the areas where the bolts go in the back I cut much more than what was shown in the guide. I only left the areas where the bolts go and cut everything else. I also left the centre where the H fits so that it's easier to fit it Next I placed the mesh at the back of the surround and fit it into the areas where the screws go to hold it in place Then I cut the mesh around the surround After that I just sprayed the mesh and the surround and even the plastic backing all in Pirates Black After that I fit the surround back The I put the H on and fitted the grill back. Love how it's turned out I did realise that the metal bar in the back didn't look as good as the freshly sprayed grill so I sprayed that also and that looked even better Front has started to look good with the mesh grill fitted

Looking good mate. I see the engine bay transforming slowly. Once you spray that rocker cover and heat shield you will see a massive difference. I always use cree side light bulbs in mine. Find them to be the brightest so far
-
That's sad news mate. Your mb has transformed so much over the years. Will certainly be missed on the forum

Found clear indicators at a breaker near. Got Chrome bulbs to go with them. Small mod big improvement.

Next I decided to sort the fog lights out. Just needed one light which I found in a scrapyard. Yellow glass paint and also colour coded the surrounds. Massive improvement I think Go nicely with the side lights but I am thinking of matching them yellow with the fogs

Never paid for it mate. It's always worked fine for me. Easier to upload pics from there as there is no size restriction.

Share some pics mate. Let us see how they look both ways

I would spray the heat shield VHT Black but you can try if it looks good just by rubbing it. I used these 60mm fogs. I don't remember the exact size of the brackets but you can see they fitted very nicely. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/White-12v-Fog-Spot-Lights-Universal-Car-Van-Pick-Up-Off-Road/282905463003?_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D51875%26meid%3D61e3e1ec73074ae6978f00d1a5e421bd%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D5%26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D282902870470%26itm%3D282905463003&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851

Here is how I fitted ebay fogs on my Aerodeck. You will have to do the wiring still but these L brackets fitted fine.

Engine bay looking good so far mate. Still loads to spray

Looks good mate. Nice clean base to start with. Here is the link to my Mb2 thread if you wanna have a look. I learned everything from that car. Was the first time ever I modified a car. Loved it to bits and still miss it.

Hi everyone. I have found myself a set of these large fog lights but there is a crack in the glass on one and the other one's glass is broken. Someone advised me to replace the glass with perspex and I found precut circular sheets of perspex. My question is anyone know how to remove the glass from these fogs as I have tried but it won't move. Thanks

Yeah that would be last resort if they can't be opened

That's not the issue mate. I think they are 80mm or something. I want to find out how can I take the glass out so I can replace it

I have seen these pre cut ones which I think should fit perfect if I get the correct diameter. I just need to know how to replace the glass. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F112428947842

I found these big fog lights for free. Can they be saved? Someone advised me to get perspex and replace the glass with that. My question how will I take the glass off? Ideas welcome
