  1. It was on ebay from a seller called happa valley motorsport. He never got back when i asked for proof of codes cos he painted over them. Probably a s**ged box he painted and trying to sell off.
  2. Ah well done mate thanks for that. Looks like I was just getting to the stage of making the splitter. Think I have some pics of how I did it, if I can find I'll put them up.
  3. I worked out getting the box the gears and someone to build it and check over it was about the same money, getting this one already done would just be less hassle. Think he might be dodgy though, was replying to me straight away when talking money but when I asked for proof and cereal numbers from the case he stopped replying and not herd since. Probably be safer do get it done myself, know what I get then.
  4. Iv actually found a guy selling a rebuilt s80 with s4c 4th and 5th. Iv asked for proof of the rebuild and if it still has the cereal numbers on it. He wants £750. Seems a bit expensive or is that about rite?
  5. My class is max 200 hp and min weight of 1060kg. Iv got a set of 17 inch team dynamic pro race 1.2 alloys, will be able to fit nice big breaks under them. Think I will be going for the 4th 5th from s4c at some point. Going to get the box in with the new clutch and light flywheel first and do some track time. With few bolt ons and map think it probably get about 180 hp ish which is fine for my first season. Don't want to spend to much on engine yet as I have a big turbo kit to fit for the following year when I will be doing a proper build. For now it's get it reliable on normal power and get some experience in the lower classes.
  6. Thanks for the good info guys. Got magnacore leads already and sorted intake side. Regs say I can't decat so be a fast flow one then. Earth leads are good idea, I'll make some big ones. According to that chart the shortest would be S1/J1 with s80 final drive and LSD from our box. Although a bit pricey a s80 seems easier to find and already has LSD so going to get one of them as a starting point. I can see how it feels on track then start changing bits as needed.
  7. Thanks mate. Iv got no idea what sort of weight it will be, looking forward to finding out myself. It was weighed at 1220kg before I started. Once its done I'll get it weighed again. The race I'm entering has a minimum weight of 1060kg including driver and fuel. Probably won't be able to get it that light by the time it's got a cage in it. I'll be happy with 1150kg including me and fuel.
  8. Hi folks, just looking for some input for my gearbox set up to go in my track car. I have to leave the engine standard so want to make best use of the power avaliable. I'm looking for the shortest gearbox avaliable which I hear is a s80, 4.7 final drive with 4th and 5th from s4c. Think it has LSD aswell but not sure. Will also be fitting uprated clutch and lightened flywheel. Going to remove the power steering aswell to give me back the small amount of power it takes to run. Anyone know if there is a better gearbox I should be looking at and what I can do to improve it remembering it will be used for racing. Is there also anything else people can think of to get the most out of the engine and improve reliability? Thanks
  9. Ha ha you gotta love those guys. Some videos are actually pretty usefully to. Not much of an update at the moment, mainly been organising parts and reading up on all the MSA regulations to make sure I don't do anything to the car that's not allowed. Got a Ricky evens motorsport heated windscreen on order so the rest of the gubbins under the dash can be removed with a nice little on off switch for the screen instead off all the fan, boxes and vent mechanisms. Also nearly finalised the specs for one of the three biggest expenses I will have to face and this is the one im also most exited about to get on the car. Hopefully I'll be able to show you within the next few weeks. This weekend is going to be removing all the sound deadening, so lots of fun
  10. Ok so after doing a lot of research it turnes out the 96 spec dc2 is a straight swap so the ksport for that will bolt directly to my car. All good news there. Got some very good prices for the kit and went to order only to be told from from 3 separate suppliers that they don't stock them and have to special order. This will take 16 weeks! I want to be on track testing ASAP so that plan is out the window so now looking at the next best thing which seems to be accord type R setup, 300 discs and twin pot calipers. Any one know if the calipers a direct bolt on, discs are different stud pattern so guessing they need drilling?
  11. Does anyone know if the 94-98 integra type r hub and nucle is the same as ours, from what I can work out the DC,MB and EG share the same components. If so the integra kit should bolt up to our nucle without issue?
  12. Cheers mate. The ATR is my back up if what I want doesn't work out. I'm going to be racing the car so want to go straight in with the best I can get rather than do what I have seen many people do and spend loads on different set ups only to then give up and do the big brake kits. Another thing I'm struggling with is an upgrade to the rear, I'd like to get away from the small solid disc. I'm toying with the idea of putting the front 286 discs on the rear and getting a 4 pot caliper with handbrake mechanism from hi spec. Only issue there is I'd have to get a custom made bracket to mount it.
  13. if anyone remembers the old project thread or finds it let me know, would be good to see it again.
  14. This was when i had a nice interior. Re trimmed the head lining, flocked pillars, full leathers and black door cards, leather gater with white stitching, few stickers and painted the trim. Bit of a waste of time and money really but nice while it lasted.
  15. Pics of the suspension set up. To keep the front geometry in the correct place after lowering it I fitted extended ball joints to the hubs and removed 22mm from the top of the hub and welded it back together. So even though the car is a lot lower its kept the handling as it should be. you can see in one pic before i did this the camber arm used to hit the top of the strut tower.
  16. So far iv built some custom aero, diffuser, canards and rear diffuser /under spoiler. Im in the process of removing as much weight as possible. There is not much left inside to remove apart from all the sound deadening and the heavy full leather seat. I will get a heated windscreen then i can remove the last parts from under the dash, heater, fan and all the associated vent gubbins. All the AC is already gone and soon to go will be the power steering and ABS. Here is a few old photos so you can see a bit of the old project this was just after the respray in audi white.
  17. Hello everyone. Thought I would share with you my new project. I used to have a project thread a few years ago but cant seem to log on to my old account and cant find my project anywhere so thought id just start a new one seeing as the car in now going in different direction . What started a few years ago as a bit of an all rounder and leaning more towards show car has now turned into a dedicated track and race car. My goal is to spend this year getting my race licence and preparing my car to enter the track attack Nippon challenge next march. This year is currently running at the moment so will be going to watch a few races and hopefully meet a few of the drivers. I have nearly all the parts for a big turbo setup which i was going to fit this summer but now i want to race im going to hold off on this as it would put me in the very competitive GT400 series. By leaving the engine standard ill be entering the GT200 series which for a novice i will be much more suited for. If all goes well and i re enter the year after ill build the engine and fit the turbo and go for the bigger leagues. For now its all about just getting into racing and having fun. Obviously seeing as it’s a racing series the car has to be built to the MSA blue book regulations which is what im working my way through at the moment. The project which im doing in my spare time has only just started and iv got plenty of time between now and next march to get the car built and tested on track days so i am taking my time. I don’t want to make any stupid mistakes either as the regulations are quite strict and im still learning. Any advice from anyone who does track days a lot or is involved in motorsport in any way would be much appreciated. Any way here is a few pics of how it stands now.
  18. Hi all need a little help. I'm going to get the k sport big brake upgrade, 330mm rotors, 8 pot calipers for my mb6. My problem is what car to buy them for as they don't do the kit for our cars. Most people upgrade their brakes to our 286 discs and calipers which seem to bolt on to a lot of other civics and from what I can work out are the same as the older dc2 with the 4x114 stud pattern. If the older dc2 brakes are the same as ours does that mean they will bolt up directly to our hubs? If so I should buy the ksport kit for the dc2 and it will be a straight bolt on job? Any input from someone with good knowing on this would be great as its a lot of money to buy them only to find out they don't fit.
