Recommended Posts

Hey all!

Im not sure where to post this but here goes I am painting the good old

rocker cover gun metal/ metallic dark grey with cadbury purple letters

but I cant seem to find decent dark grey heat resistant paint  :-|

I have the purple paint already.

should I have to laquer it after paint and will that have to be heat

resistant aswell to prevent peel?

Cheers!  :-D  :-D  :-D

i used some white high temp paint for mine as a base coat, then painted on top, i also used lacquer, but to be honest it should be ok using normal paint as i know a few people have used normal paint and its been fine

What so instead of primer used a high temp base coat?

Yeah I've accidently used used normal wrinkle paint and not high temp. (Think I need glassss)

but so far so good. It's held up fine.

Haha Well sounds good to me since I cant find any decent high temp dark grey paint.

Thanks lads anymore tips for the process of painting would be helpful!

Nitromors or similar let that do the work. Clean it all down. light sand then start painting. Ya don't wanna be getting bits of paint and grit from heavy sanding stuck in the baffle in the cover.

So just really swim in paint thinner rub that in then sand it down and fingers crossed everything goes to plan!
