hondasport
Hi, I saw an advertisment on facebook of a 26mm swaybar from a mb6. Now I measured mine from my mc2 and that's only 24mm. How can it be that there's a differince between those? And would it make the car much with the 26mm version?
Krzys
Probably not a massive difference really. If it was really cheap or free then I'd go for it just because you can.
KiNK43
Yeah I thought this was weird. I only noticed after buying 26mm bushes for my mc2.Maybe decks are 24mm? Hatch is 26mm? Possible deck a bit unbalanced having no rear arb as well. ??
dr_broon
Never realised this either. Must be to match the lack of rear arb.
dr_broon
Been thinking about this a bit more. When i put the rear arb on it got rid of understeer, and made the back end a bit more lively. If it had the thicker bar at the front without the rear on the understeer would have been worse.
KiNK43
Yeah that's what I'm thinking. Bit unbalanced.
Krzys
Yeah the rule seems to be thicker at the rear will help the front but makes the rear more lively and vise versa.
Aky-Mb6
Bigger front arb gives more understeerBigger rear arb give more oversteerJust need to find a good match for your driving style. On my previous EK saloon, I had a 26mm front and a 23mm rear arb and the handling was spot on for me. This was with coilovers and about 1.5degree camber on front and 2.5degree on rear. Think main reason cars come setup for more understeer than oversteer is that the general public can handle understeer easier. Most people who loose the rear around a bend tend to go backwards into oncoming traffic lol
dr_broon
Just to update on this, just got some vernier callipers to measure mine, and mines 24mm as well.
