Just double checking, so sorry if this is a stupid question, but when you say vtec, do you mean at between 3.5-4k revs, or higher at around 5.8k.

Just cos on the b18c4, vtec is the first stage, and the second more noticeable increase is when the butterfly valve opens in the intake.

Will help with diagnosis.

As i say, sorry if I'm taking about stuff that you know already :)

oh right so not like a b16 or h22 at all?? lol

well i have replaced my b-pipe as it snapped by the silencer, but after that it seems i also have a blow in my backbox

so listening for any noise is hard lol

so how are these different? have i decided on the wrong engine

i love v-tec and honda's - i want v-tec lol

The c4 is the only one with a two stage system, designed for getting better tourque at lower revs (delvops more torque than the c6 at the lower end)

A few mods and you'll hear it/feel it.

Teg type r air box, manifold and a good cat back and it'll 'pop' (Vtec) then Roar (Iabs)

You want a whales p***s and a full system manifold back and it will be a completely different car.

Basically vtec kick in around 4,5k but around 6k it has a thing called IABS which is what you feel/hear more

ok cool - well i missed out on a catback toyo sports system on ebay

it had a s**t halfords air filter when i got it - also had standard air box in boot - so put that back on for now

need to sort out the hole in backbox

so maybe i don't have a v-tec problem then after all this

need to get coilovers fitted, then make the evo recaros fit , and then reshen up the dc2 alloys and get some tyres for them
