Diagnostic help (need a connector to read the 5 + 2 pin's)

Question

Hi All

I really do hope someone can assist me as I am having problems locating what I need.

So not a single garage near me has the socket for their diagnostic scanner to plug in to my 98 aerodeck, it's the standard 5 + 2 pin one you find under the glovebox show in the included photo.

So my plan was to buy the correct one for my local mechanic, he has the below 2 diagnostic scanners, I would ideally like to get it for the Autel -

Autel Maxiflash VCMI

Alternatively he also has this one -

Angry Jester Jesdigit

Any help really would be greatly appreciated.

TBH I have no clue Dr broom, hence the ask, but looks like it.

Do you by chance know if it's just the 5 pin part the diagnostic needs to read? or the 2 pin as well?? I ask as I know you have to bridge the 2 pin one for the engine (flash readout hack)

Thank you so much for taking the time

Of course it's worth a go if that's what you want to do you may have better luck than me. But I've been there done that with these adaptors and using an obd reader. Just doesn't seem to work.

I assume honda have a specific tool for the obd1 cars.

Can use the bridge method of course.

Thank's for the reply Kink, seems that's the long & short of things, heard the same from a few now regarding the V2 OBD kits not reading things right, so seems I am stuck with the bridge method
