jalesi2001
There isnt a fuse for the power steering, its a hydraulic system, not electric!!
D15
yes but there should be a fuse for the sensors, stress/strain sensors on the rack to determine how much force you are putting into the steering wheel.
jalesi2001
Not that i know of mate, it aint that clever!! We are talking 10+ year technology here!! I'll check the manual, but i dont think there is mate.
D15
Fair...I swear there was one on my mums S2k, and my lecturer at college explained that thats how power steering worked, stress/strain sensors fed thru a Wheatstone bridge that told the power steering pump how much to...pump.Apologies if im wrong. jalesi2001
Yeah there is on a S2000, but thats electric power steering, not hydraulic like ours!!
Dave
lol glad you cleared that up Adam! I've never come across a fuse for the power steering on the M's we've got here, and we have 3 !! Was thinking "eh? surely no?" lol
DAVEMB2
just to add to this think and some peeps may go with me on this but you get a better feel to the road ect. with hdyraulic than with and electric power steering
jalesi2001
Yeah, i would probably agree with that, electric steering is different, and can feel strange if you aint used to it!! I prefer Hydraulic to be honest!!
civicturbo79
Ill say the same on that . my mrs colt is electric power steering and it super light when hardly moving (for parking and so on ) and is you get to 30/40 mph it goes all heavy on you ,its so strange and it takes some getting used too, i thought there was something wrong with it when she first had it . jalesi2001
Yep, exactly, its very clever, but it caused loads of problems when the EU/EP civics come out....peeps were trading in their 'm's and driving away their EP/EU's, then bringing them back saying they had steering issues!! knightmare!!
