I got this 126k 420SDi Cat C in March 08' for commuting to work.

Those familiar with COPART, basically they sell written off cars.

I paid £172 inc fee's.

The only damage was the rear bumper, I took it off, heated it back to shape, glued it, and put it back on the car.

Just needed VIC and mot was only No. plate bulb.

A mate of mine was breaking a rear ended MB6, I bought the lowered springs and the complete shocks from him and he gave me the interior for free. :D

Remote CL didn't work on driver door but other doors did, swapped the module thingy from the MB, happy days. :D

I had some cheapo alloys so I chucked them on. (yes, it's tyre shine)

Sold in March 2000 with 163K as the sills were lacking in metal, I fibreglassed the holes, the MOT guy was happy with it.

Bye Bye.

Got this slightly newer one,(copart) 2000W with 119K for £252. 8-)

The damage was both O/S doors, however the car was used as an ashtray, I had to remove the interior inc. centre console just to clean it.

I did find Turtles DS game though. 8-)

VIC and MOT was a breeze, needed full service though, first car with A/C.

I pushed out the damage as best I could, quite happy with it TBH.

I started noticing MG ZS has the same colour, typed 'Breaking ZS' on ebay found a guy who had both for £30 in the same colour totally complete from a 03' plate.

Mirrors are MB6 items.

(sorry crap pics)

Changing the doors was pretty easy TBH, the only major thing was to swap out the windy windows on the rear door for the electric ones.

The sills are like brand new so I've undersealed them.

Thanks for looking.

Bargain! Good car for a daily runner! It's amazing how easily the insurance companies will write these (and the civic Ms) off for what is barely any damage at all. Lot of decent cars end up being broken. Mike Brewer look out! lol 8-)

My other half and I did a bit of tugging.

Front bumper was given a temp repair until 2nd week in May, booked in for spraying.

The replacement bonnet is not the same colour however it's the same in the engine bay.

I'm pretty chuffed with it TBH however underseal was/is nowhere to be seen on these, even the fuel tank was beginning to rust.

95% of these have no electric rear windows too, this has now been corrected thanks to 2 complete rear doors from a MB6 and the armrest switches.

If I were breaking a MB6 I'd advertise them for a MGZS rear electric window kit.

Wow thats cheao and looks nice now its all been fixed up. How does it drive? Whats the TD engine like?

Drives nice really, I think it has 20mm shorter springs standard.

The TD engine is pretty reliable tbh and cheap to replace worst case scenario.
