Car cuts out after 6-8 minutes

get youself a book mate and test it or get an auto electrician to do it or send it to place who can recon it, and or replace fault find the area of the problem coil, amp, sparker igniter and components inside ect.many other areas also connected to the engine managment systems emissions cold start and the like :roll:

swap another s/h one,

try a new one,

autoelectrician,

elemination is the key really :idea:

many areas of faults with electrics,maybe stick old plugs back in :idea:so good findings mate ;)

Cap and rotor not gonna do it. It's the ignitor in the dizzy starts playing up. You need to change the whole dizzy. Search ebay for tdu86. I baught one last year for 70 quid and its still going strong. Good luck.

Hey guys, just wanted to say thanks for the pointers I received here on this issue. I picked up a second-hand distributor for €80 (~£70) about a week ago and fitted it myself over the weekend. Car's running fine now and no more cutting out *touches wood* Now if I could just get the passenger side door card to go back on after replacing the mirror.... :(:)
