nice build, many guys here will benefit from your findings along the way since M cars are hard to source aftermarket parts for.

On the other hand I can't see why you haven't saved youself all the hassle with the mb6 and haven't build something light in the first place like an EG. They can be found very cheap (as low as gbp300). And the weight that you would shave would be much better than investing the same money into lightening your mb6. Also the aftermarket parts for EG are widely available so it would save you lots of research that you have to spend figuring out what fits the mb6.

Thats what makes the MB6 so appealing, you have to work at getting parts and making things fit. Means it's a true build, with a lot of thought put into it. Also breaks away from the crowd, the easy way aint always the best way!! lol.

Exactly what Dave said.

I've had so many people saying to me "why'd you not just get an EG", "or an Integra", "or an Evo", or "a decent car to start with."

All I can say is that I'm sorry for not fitting into a pigeon-hole. Sorry for not doing what everyone else has...

...but I can't wait to see the look on their face when I race against Evo's, EG's and Integras and win, in my 5 door family barge

Seriously though, I love working on the car, I love having something that's different and I love the fact that it's NOWHERE near finished, but already I'm overtaking Evo's and Caterhams on track days. Granted they won't be being driven 100% on a track day, but it shows the car has potential.

More updates coming soon, seeing as I've just been paid :)

I won't let the MB down! I promise! It's all good natured, everyone ribs me about the car, and as much as I'd love something like an Evo, or an M3 or something, and would happily spend my money on such a car, I so much prefer the underdog. I don't gel with the community that comes with most other cars, but the Honda bunch are great - not up their own arses. They seem to think for themselves rather than go with the trends, which I like.

...anyway...going outside now to start plans on my next secret project for the Civic...might take me a while this one, but will be well worth it!

Totally agree with that statement, dont get me wrong, there are other cars I would love to have, but other cars can bring out the worst in people and their forums can attract some muppets, thats why I love this site, everyone seems genuinely interested and excited about the car, and incourage others with theirs, instead of slagging off other projects and stating their opinion as fact. Honda people seem to be Happy people!!

hehe...nice slogan Jal

stoocake good luck with your build...it was just a thought that would be more cost effective in the long run, especially if you kept the bits from the mb6 and put that into eg chassis (engine, gearbox, brakes) and sell the rest unnecessary stuff, but I am sure with all the work you seem to be putting in it will be a cracking ride anyway...I will enjoy watching the progress and hopefully guys here can use what you find in the process on their street cars as well

the car surely has potential...I remember seeing an mb6 in the Britcar 24hour race @ Silverstone where topgear crew participated in 2007...just so you know what to aim for ;o]]
