My vti aerodeck

Hi everyone I'm going to start a thread on my aero deck to show it off a bit while I modify and update parts.

I acquired my aero deck in replacement of my Import bb4 prelude 2.2 VTEC due to the size of my family growing i so a coupe just couldn't cut it anymore so the hunt began on a suitable fun but practical replacement and I came along this aero deck nice size car pram size boot and five doors but b18 and LSD so after looking round the car I was sold I had to have it I'm sure its not the best example out there but it is tidy enough for the price asked so after a little chat and a bit of haggling I drove it away and although upset about giving up the lude I was smiling again so looks like I'm hooked :-) I brought it home and began work straight away first job on the list was change the suspension for some coilovers although second hand they were a bargain price. I found them easy to fit (about 30mins a corner) love red the car back down and was instantly amazed by how pretty it looked that little bit lower it had a slight miss fire so put it down to plugs and leads so up came the bonnet and out came the plugs and in went the new swapped the leads over for new while I was at it , put the bonnet back down and tooked her for a test run on her new suspension and running new plugs and leads I didn't have a miss fire anymore but it was partially bogging down and the cornering felt a little sloppy and not too road connected so back home I went to scratch my head some more and dive back under the car and bonnet.

First I lifted the front end and found the reason the car didn't hold the road too well it honestly looks like the suspension arms and bushes are the original ones so because of funds had to sadly lower the car and hold off for a while and put up with sloppy steering

As kids and house have to come first so that was the beggining of my list started much to the Mrs dismay lol

Next the bonnet came up I had a poke about and put it down a very dirty inlet and sensors so out that lot came for a good cleanup and replacement after all back together dropped the bonnet again and wow big big improvement job done she flew so out came the vtec grin once again and the lude became nothing but a distant adolescent memory :-) . anyways this is turning more into a blog than a thread so I'll shut up and put some facts and mod list down along with future plans :-)

Modifications so far...

Air cone filter

Exhaust back box (stainless)

TA technix coilovers

Super lite 16" wheels

Near future mods/parts

Start buying new suspension components to improve handling

Long term goals

Saves me doing the hard work and I can sell the old one to free up some cash for more bits :-)

Also have a d1 spec dampener for an ek civic but I'll let you know if it fits ...

I'll update as i progress but it will be slowly as kids/wife/and house take lead priority.

Right that's it for now I'm sure you all bored so I'll open it up to comments from you cheers Ben.

Your deck is already looking proper sweet! 8-) Shame your Prelude had to go.. I always have a soft spot for them. I cleaned out the intake too just before Christmas, made quite a difference to mine. Keep up the good work and I cannot wait to see the B20 swap/conversion even though that will be a long wait

yeah indeed there will be (EVENTUALLY lol) im planning on keeping it a while so should be a good practical but fun build :) thanks

how did u clean the air inlet, if u dont mind updating when you get a chance.

a little how to or tips on this might go a long waaaaayy for likes of me.

Lots of carb cleaner bit of 1200 wet and dry paper and loads of elbow grease mainly but makes all the difference no real need to do a guide just dive in and attack it :) if its there and can be removed pull it off and clean it is the best way :)
