Krzys
Yeah bung the new stat in, I reckon it's probably staying open! Not a bad thing when it's hot outside!
vtismill
Well the stats in and I'm bleeding it as we speak, we shall soon see!
vtismill
And by the looks of it it's still the same 😞
Krzys
Weird...only other thing I can think of is the waterpump? But surely a closed stat would prevent a constant flow...
vtismill
Still havnt got this sorted, now gets up to temperature ok, fan kicks in fine, as soon as I vtec it though gauge goes right down, is this just because its been really cold recently and it's forcing really cold air in? if I drive normally again it will get up to temp ok again, so new stat i put in I think has cured that, it's loads better then before, just tends to drop after hard acceleration, wish I could get it sorted, so just wondered if anyone else's did this at all really with it being cold weather all the time? Thank you!
Krzys
Hmmmm it shouldn't do that....only thing that comes to mind is the water pump?
NIKH25
I don't think it should drop noticeably, it will drop a bit from sitting still (eg. in traffic) to having air pushed through the system at a high rate but should hardly be noticeable. Could be a water pump problem.
